Ive always been of the opinion it doesnt matter if he bet AGAINST his team or not. Betting ON them will affect how you manage and can screw over the team long term. (like sticking with a starter too long because Pete went HEAVY on the Reds that night)


Pete not being in the hall of fame is just a comfortable position for me. It's fine how it is. Everyone knows he was good enough. He just blew his chance.

Maybe he's opening the door (just a crack) for Pete.

The one thing pete doesnt have going for him is that he still gambles, pretty heavily from the last time I saw him in Vegas.

The reason is matters is that his ban is from baseball. Not just the HOF. Allowing back into the Reds as a good will amabassador puts him back at the front door of baseball insder information. Talking to coaches, players etc.

reports are that they might like a probation period with Pete. If part of that probabtion is NO GAMBLING....could be tough.

Pete Rose the baseball player should be in the Hall of Fame. What Pete Rose the dumbass manager did should not change that. Keep him suspended but let him in the Hall.
