They've already let him participate once since he was banned, haven't they?

Yes, I remember that also. Perhaps it was in Boston when they had all of the greats out there.

they should bring in Ray Fosse and they can recreate that play at the plate.

Lemme tell you somethin' about Ray Fosse, Stoney, one of the best, no- maybe the best- at blocking the plate that I've ever seen in my six decades in this game. The game has changed though, you can't even block the plate anymore. And that All-Star game, Pete took a lot of heat for that. But Pete, he was just playing the game the only way he knew how and that was the right way.

:D didn't even need the Stoney among the "lemme tell you... one of the best, no- maybe the best"

this is cool. what he did was bad, but he did serve out a harsh punishment for it and i think it did set a tone for an example as to what happens to people who cheat. unless you use drugs to cheat.

You know who could really block home plate?

It's a new beginning, a new century, a new commissioner, a new Pete Rose with a new hottie wife.

Just hope the rumors that Pete's going to run the Fifty-Fifty raffle at the All-Star game aren't true.

The sweetest irony is that Fosse grew up in Marion, Illinois and scumbag Rose ended up there.

Is anyone really shocked by this? He bet against his teams too. He makes the roiders look like Boy Scouts. Hall of Fame? NEVER.

I never should've sent the last of those 12 easy $49.99 payments for 'The Complete Pete Rose MLB Betting System' instruction tapes:

The book, according to Dowd, also showed that in those three months Rose bet $2,500 or more on 69 games and lost 64

That's fine, but do it posthumously. That scumbucket shouldn't be able to stand on the stage to the cheers of all the goofs who revere him.

I tend toward agreement with not wanting to see Rose get to start selling something like 'I bet on basebell and I still made the HofF. Suck it, bitches.'

But as someone who enjoys the schadenfreude of public PR disasters by folks like Pete Rose, I'd wanna hear Rose give a HofF induction speech before he dies.

Quote:
"On his own web site, Rose blatantly pokes fun at himself. He sells signed baseballs saying "I'm sorry I bet on baseball" for $300. He charges $100 for just his signature. For fans willing to pay $500, Rose will autograph copies of his Major League banishment orders.

See, that's just it, he's not sorry at all. He thinks it's a fucking joke.

Yeah, after reading the article about how Pete Rose would clean up on all new signings and being a crappy pitchman + the stuff JORR posted previously about Pete Rose being a shit-heel as a person, i'm not that interested in hearing his HOF speech. And he'll probably go on some interview show and spout crazy talk/lies if/when the current commish declares "no Pete Rose in the MLB HOF on my watch".

I don't get this...there's no way someone could influence the result of 64 out of 69 baseball games. Or be that bad of a prognosticator (don't fade me.com).

Yes, he should. He is the all time hits leader. One of the greatest hitters in the history of the game.

Again...that Hall of Fame is full of scumbucket pieces of shit. Racists, wife beaters, addicts...the works.

Let's focus on the on-the-field accomplishments.

No. Let's focus on a guy who lost games on purpose in order to cash bets.

And the fact that some scumbags got in there is hardly an argument for knowingly putting in another one.
