We didn't have one yet - thought I'd get it started for miscellaneous news not worthy of its own thread.

Marcus Stroman is out for the year - ACL tear.

He is going to be very good, eventually.

Last year I entered nas' league with a pitching staff of Clayton kershaw, yu darvish, Madison bumgarner, matt moore, and José Fernandez.

Suffice to say this year its "thank god I won the championship last year" cuz while I did grab Michael pineda while Kershaw missed April, he's Michael pineda and by the time mid-may rolls around he's got pine tar suspensions where he hurts his back during the downtime and he's out til august and by then I had list Moore to Tommy john and Fernandez went down in mid-may/ish too. Go figure darvish shuts down for the season in the 1st week of august on the same exact day pineda comes back and, of course, is a lights out 6IP pitcher down the stretch.

I traded off Moore 4 parts (kolten Wong) and I keep Fernandez 4 this year I figure... Right?

DOWN GOES DARVISH!!!!! he wants to avoid tj surgery via 2nd opinion... But holy shit man I'm supposed to be "the pitching guy" in the league and wtf if going on?

It's a total crapshoot with starting pitching nowadays. You can't really count on anyone to give you a 3-5 year run of !!!! And if you do get that in the form of Madison bumgarner... Well how many innings did he throw in the world series? Yeah giants do the WS every other year but still you wouldn't be shocked if bummy done blew out his arm... You'd be like "yeah but that world series performance was badass" and c'est la vie.

Sucks to see stroman go cuz isn't he Toronto's crazy strikeout pitcher? Last year he was way off his old lofty #s but he improved the ERA/WHIP so you'd think this year coulda seen it come together... Again c'est la vie.

Ah well come august we're all gonna be caught up in babe Bryant hysteria so what does it matter?

The Rangers need a starter. The Cubs like trading starters to the Rangers.

Edwin Jackson?
Travis Wood?

Cespedes robbed a HR from Kurt Suzuki. He's going to be a snake in the grass this season for Detroit. Hating Cespedes and calling him overrated became the really cool thing for people to do last year.

The cat's in a contract year so he'll be busting ass.

Arrieta laughs at you mentioning this. He had a no-hitter through 5 like four or five times last season.

Let us know after 8 innings.

Well they usually have a noticeable drop off the year after World Series victories...at least they are starting it early this year.

Preller is treating the Padres like his OOTP franchise.

Am I the only one who enjoyed watching Tanaka get his shit handed to him yesterday? IIRC he didn't elect for the TJ surgery so at some random point his arm is pretty likely to blow up... That has to mess with your head out there.

That's the same thing Stan said Randy told him about Jay Cutler, & look @ how that's turned out.

LaTroy Hawkins with the save tonight. Just keeps plugging away...hard to believe he's in his 20th year -- and 10th after leaving the Cubs.

I'm fairly certain they want their fans to be liquored up and obnoxious as possible.

I always look at Bat vs Pitch stats. I know there is research that says its not a good indicator but it seems to work a lot of the time.

Hanley Ramirez is 10 for 29 with 5 homers off of Aaron Harang. We'll see.

adrian gonzalez is on a mission to lead the universe in HRs, as he's got 4 already! and the dude is a slow starter!

i remember last year he said his shoulder was feeling good for the first time since surgery and i wanna say he led the NL with ~116rbi and well... yeah.

degrom vs zimmerman was fun. i'm getting laughed at now but if the ~2017 mets can trot out a rotation of harvey, degrom, syndergaared, wheeler, and matz they might be able to give the storied nats rotation a run for their money.

hey if any of you guys like baseball we've got harvey/strasburg going down in an hour or less.

MLB extra innings preview = in effect so until sunday you've got everything on your TV, and if you haven't got mlb.tv on your phone you're prolly like "wow this asshole just made 3 posts in a row AND NOBODY CARES!"

The Chicago Bulls have advised the Mets to limit Matt Harvey to 30 pitches.
