This is the guy I wanted.

Since 2010, Cueto's aggregate 2.87 ERA ranks third among MLB starters (minimum 900 innings pitched) behindClayton Kershaw and Adam Wainwright.

I wanted him too, he went for 6-130 ..which is a bargain, I thought he would get 165-175 million. The next guy is gotta be from a team that is buried before the deadline A's or Injuns maybe Padres.

So all the cool kids are getting opt out clauses. Hard to blame them after seeing Grienke pick up a cool $107M with his opt out clause. The Rockies and Padres should just sit the next couple years out.

Arrieta/Cueto/Lester/Lackey would have just about guaranteed a WS within the next 2 seasons. We have to be able to match the arms of the Mets.

Great signing. He had a bad run at the worst possible time and they got a discount.

Bad run? Cmon man.. He was great until he went to the A.L. and got slapped around pretty badly- until he faced a N.L. team (mets)

I dont know what you're disagreeing with. He had a bad run with the Royals for the most part.

My bad thought you were downplaying his awfulness in his 3 months in A.L. . It wasn't a bump in the road, N.L. pitchers get worse in A.L. and A.L. guys get better.

In general yes, but I'm not sure that is what happened with Cueto. I think he's one of the guys who is good no matter what.

Before the Royals run he was 14-6 with a 2.68 ERA against the AL

If Matt Cain is going to be healthy, this signing makes the Shark deal puzzling.

Why in the world would they commit that kind of money to an underperforming head case who gave up bombs off of his flat pitches early in seemingly every other game last season.

(I can still hear the shots ringing off of the empty seats & railings at the no crowd Baltimore game last season)
