I've said this before on here. Baseball is missing the black athlete. When I was growing up,baseball was better for it in the late 60's,70's,etc. More MLB teams should be sponsoring inner-city Little Leagues. I think the White Sox do this. |

Folks initially reluctant to jump on Junior Griffey and make him a face of the sport is similar to now and Bryce Harper and his "make baseball fun again." [Black] high school kids who are great athletes have a higher expected value playing football or basketball. Instead of toiling in the minor leagues at minimal salaries, they can play NCAA Division I and get both an education (if they want it) and money under the table to boot. |
