Yeah, I remember now. Carter jumped the line. What a shame.

That Cifu guy got banned already, by the way. First thing the refs have called all spring.

What is the Chicago Sports equivalent of that game 7 loss by the Blues? At least it was only the first round and not the Finals.

Hawks game 7 loss to the Kings in 2014 comes to mind first. 2001 Bears loss to the Eagles, maybe: kinda bad team had no business being there but overachieved and lost.

Edit: no, duh, Hawks loss to Vancouver in 2011. 8 seed damn near stole the series from the President's Trophy winner until they blew it in overtime.

Vaughncouver. One of the better sporting series I’ve ever seen and I watch hockey about as well as I read Japanese.

nice win by Florida last night. Steam rolled Carolina.

If you don't love Brad Marchand you don't love hockey.

I feel like that dude is 55 yrs old. Seems like he has been playing and causing havoc since I was a kid.

Panthers look like a team that is going to win it all.

I think the Oilers get them this time. They've dropped fewer games and they haven't had to concuss anyone's goalie to do it.

Carolina's shit always stops working in the playoffs because eventually just thwacking 110 bad shots a game isn't effective anymore.

The McDavid era Oilers have to have the worst playoff GA number in playoff history. They will probably still make the final with 100 GA.

I generally will root for the Panthers in the playoffs since the Hawks are never in the playoffs these days. This year I am torn though. I still like their style of play and the majority of their roster and I love that they bailed the Hawks out of the atrocious Seth Jones contract but it is going to be real hard seeing that dead ass, lazy, cash checking shitbag get his name on the cup after completely dogging it the last 4 or whatever years.

hurricanes found out this year, what they should have known for awhile - andersen is not a stanley cup final goalie. well liked, seemingly because of his health issues. that's not a good reason to forge ahead with him in goal behind a very good club. just not a clutch G at playoff time.

Dallas has been disappointing the last few games. I thought they looked good the first couple of series.

They went 7 with the Avs and beat a Jets team that went winless on the road and was probably never even that good anyway, mostly on the strength of Rantanen playing out of his mind. The Oilers are on another level: 12-2 since those first games in L.A., with too many game-breakers for anyone to deal with.

The Panthers will have a chance if they're allowed to concuss another goalie (they will be).

"You can't call game misconducts on every play" isn't my idea of fun.

It'll be enjoyable if the Oilers are allowed to do Oilers things. I am so tired of the way the Panthers play and the whole notion of swallowing the whistles for "playoff hockey." The league fixed the neutral zone trap, they can fix letting the Panthers mug everyone because it would be unfair for power plays to determine playoff games.

changes likely in dallas...deboer pulling oettinger after 2 shots/2goals is something i would do out of anger, not a well-respected coach with a world-class reputation. regardless, surprised at how well the oilers defend in the playoffs. a great D out of nowhere and add, arguably, the two best FWDs in the world and it should be no surprise, even with skinner in goal. still, surprised me. considered duchene as a UFA. looks as though his age caught up to him...forget it.

saw emily kaplan interview corey perry the other day. she knows exactly what occurred between perry and the blackhawks mystery lady. did her job professionally...didn't tell her producers she would prefer to ignore him or shame him further - due to metoo principles. maybe she wishes it was her and the ugly lecher. they'll need him with hyman out...florida in 6.

deBoer was just like "look I'm not saying it's ALL his fault but if you look at the numbers, he sucks against the Oilers." Somewhere, Mike Keenan is like "that's no way to treat your goalie, damn."

EDIT: come to think of it, deBoer basically is Keenan, another miserable prick who repeatedly sets the dressing room on fire and then vine-swings into another head coaching job

i'm not a dallas fan, if i was, i'd have been pissed at oettinger with his 2 goals against/2shots comedy stunt in a do-or-die home conference final game. just signed an 8 year deal at over $8 million per. as a fan, fuck him, embarrass him. that's what deboer did...he's supposed to be the pro coach with the world-class reputation.

the reality is, if desmith stoned the oilers the rest of that game and there's a game 6 in edmonton....so, desmith starts?? deboer put himself into a trick bag that didn't need scrutiny, since there will be no game 6. as it turned out, desmith did not stone the oilers and dallas has more questions than answers after this season - the season of adding rantanen.

again, amazed at the oilers' team and individual defense, along with skinner's play. still like florida to repeat.

as far as keenan...believe he was blessed with belfour and hasek. dollar bill got rescued from paying 2 top-class goalies, as hasek wanted playing time assurances. keenan didn't handle the spasmatic belfour the same way counsell has handled the spasmatic crow-armstrong. early on, belfour couldn't correctly channel his drive and motivation to be the best....and keenan just kept getting angrier and angrier.

They were fluky goals and it's the Oilers. The only comedy stunt was pulling him with so much time to play. It was the wrong move (well, not for me, I wanted the Oilers to win). But it just goes to show what a schmuck he is. Maybe he'll mature on team #6.

oettinger has got to make a save, he's dallas' $8+ million per year G for years...we could say the stars scored fluky goals, but they didn't, because the opposing G made the save.

hate to burn a time-out in the 1st period - prob the best coaching option. time-out and a 2 min monologue with oettinger. you're better than that, you've proved that in the past, your teammates need you, right now. not next october or next march, right now. let's go.
