These have all been great series except Sharks/Expansion team....mainly because there is no fucking way an expansion team should be capable of making the playoffs let alone dominating them.

Jets up 1-0. The Nashville fans annoy the crap out of me

Preds are trapping like motherfuckers now. If they keep this up, the fans will think it's 2003 again and stop showing up.

EDIT: there goes the lead

And Nashville just tied it up

Then Jets take the lead again.

Jets don't really have an adequate response to the trap, it turns out. Preds probably win tonight and Monday and that's it.

Or maybe they do? I'm remembering how much I miss Dustin Byfuglien. When you compare the time he's spent in Chicago versus the time he's spent in Winnipeg (eh and that orphan season in Atlanta), I guess technically history will remember him more as a Jet, but man, what a huge part of the 2010 team he was.

He was the perfect power forward for that team, but he has turned out to be a very good defenseman. Didn't Tallon make some mistake regarding the team's RFA, creating the salary cap crunch resulting in the trade with the Thrashers and others?

It was that and Toews/Kane hitting ELC bonuses that didn't fit into the 2010 salary cap and had to roll over as dead space. The "Byfuglien trade" in full was a disaster: for losing him and Sopel, I think we got Jeremy Morin (traded for Tim Erixon, who played like one game and sucked), the Kevin Hayes pick (never signed), and the Adam Clendening pick (eventually traded for Forsling).

There was a phase of prospects who just never amounted to shit with us: Morin, Olsen, Pirri, Hayes, few others.

The Mark McNeill pick was horrible also; thankfully the Hawks got Saad and Shaw in that draft

And that's why Hartman was traded; he fails to convert a goal, gets frustrated and takes a stupid penalty resulting in a Jets PP.

Q just poured at least 4 fingers out to that Hartman penalty.

Don't forget Clendening (became Forsling, who could become meaningful! tick-tock), Danault (WSH pick for Brouwer), and that Shalunov guy who's supposed to be really good in Russia but won't join the Hawks for some reason. That was just weird that the first pick of many the Hawks had that summer was the one who busted. Then Andrew Shaw goes through nineteen draft rounds and is a huge part of two championship teams.

Rinne has failed to finish the game three times already in the playoffs, twice in this series. Hartman's dumbshit penalty didn't lose the game, but it certainly didn't help Nashville get back in it. I don't think he'll be non-tendered over the summer but getting traded or allowed to be offer-sheeted feel likely. I don't get the feeling the organization is in love with him; he's been in and out of the lineup, which your first-round-pick-costing deadline acquisition shouldn't do.

Speaking of the Hartman pick, if the Preds lose Monday, the pick will be #27.

The Perds fans went out big again like last year, throwing trash all over the ice at the end of, God willing, their last home game.

At least I was spared seeing Keith Urban prance around his box every other stoppage.

This Connor-to-Scheifele goal really wowed me.

So that Jets-Bruins Final I predicted isn't happening. Lost in the flood of Brad Marchand licking people.

Is Tampa better than I thought or was Boston not as deep? I expected Boston to at least make it to the ECF.

That stat did surprise me. A Tampa/Winnipeg Final would be awful for the NHL/NBC but would be fantastic for all the high-end talent.

I was fully aware of the Bolts making the East final in back-to-back years but I was confident that Vasilevskiy would wilt under playoff pressure and see the Bruins through, who were quietly almost as good as the Bolts this year (there was a lot of "don't even bother playing the season, they already won" talk about Tampa back around November, less so for Boston). I guessed wrong. I didn't think the Blackhawks would be one of the worst teams in the league, either.
