Jaroslav Halak, who was being compared to Patrick Roy and Ken Dryden during this year's Stanley Cup Playoffs, had his rights traded by the Montreal Canadiens to the St. Louis Blues on Thursday in exchange for prospects Lars Eller and Ian Schultz.

I am a little suprised after the playoff run, the Canadiens would trade Halak, could be that Halak will be a restricted free agent.

This should be a nice pickup for the Blues.

Yeah, at first I kind of that it was weird too, but after contemplating it, it was a really good move. both Halak and price were restricted free ajents this year, both are well thought of, but Halak obviously has much higher value at this point, so rather than resigning him at a higher cost and trading Price for something of lesser value, you get as much as you can, and you sign a decent goalie at a much lower cap hit and get some good prospects... brilliant...
