Yea, today is like a Hockey marathon on NBC, Comcast, & Versus, with 3 games being broadcast, right? |

Dunno, they started showing Caps @ Buffalo and then mentioned Flyers @ Rangers but then flipped to this Minnesota game. Would rather have watched one of the other 2 games, see enough Wild and Wings during the season. |

Ah, I see what you mean, NBC is broadcasting the Penguins @ Hawks next. Hopefully Doc Emrick is calling that one with Eddie O. |

After getting Kronwalled a couple playoffs back and then that collision today, Havlat has to hate skating against Detroit at this point. |

Wild lose in the shootout; which was a bit odd because Backstrom during the game stopped point blank shot after point-blank shot from the Wings (stopped 38 out of 39) but got beat easily 2 out of 3 times in the SO. Wild move 4 points ahead of the Blackhawks, but Hawks have a game-in-hand. Carey Price has a new mask for tonight's outdoor game against Calgary: |

Mike "Doc" Emrick & Eddie Olcyzk indeed called Penguins/Blackhawks on the "Peacock" today. What NBC Sports did today was a gimmick called "Hockey Day in America", where they featured 3 regional games at the outset and then had Pittsburgh/Chicago as its feature game. The fact that the Pens' Sidney Crosby being out & the Hawks' freefall wasn't quite what NBC had in mind when they scheduled the game months ago. Still, the Hawks won a game they really needed 3-2 in a shootout. The idea behind it is to show the Rowan Atkinson-looking NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman and the knuckleheads who run the league that NBC & its new sister channel VERSUS can do the heavy lifting when their U.S. contracts expire after this season. All indications are that because Comcast-owned VERSUS is now part of the new NBC Sports Group, the NHL won't be leaving either network anytime soon. |
