Kopecky got 4 years for 12m in Florida.

So happy we didn't sign that contract. Although this sets the market rate for Richards at like 13m per

 Wait... What?

I know this class is really weak but damn... There are legit 3 million dollar FA's out there for the taking... Kopecky should make half of that at most...

Hey Dan, how much cap space do the hawks have to work with... My numbers said around 15 before a Sharp extension but I don't believe it... What do you have?

CapGeek has them a touch over 14m available right now. That's with only 9 fowards, 5 D and 2 goalies though

http://capgeek.com/charts.php?Team=11

That's not including the potential hit they'd take if they couldn't move Huet again, which it seems most are expecting them to do

Christ that's a lot of scratch... That's two Brad Richards and a Colin Fraser...

Gotta think that Sharps cap hit is already 3.9, so only 2 million more to him...

Ah, 12 milldo left...

Thanks Dan

taking a second look, the number is not including Rockford guys who are likely to make the team this year in Morin maybe Pirri nor is it including Campoli's, Frolik's, Stalbergs new money either.

It's probably more around 9-10m cap space

Maybe a brad Richards and a Jason Arnott.

That's one way to address the size issue... Would help in front of the net on the PP as well... That's actually a pretty good fit... Wonder how much Arnott would cost.

Top 30 FA's according to TFP... Dont know about Wisniewski being #4 on the list or their prediction that he'll get more than 5 million :| but interesting list nonetheless...

In related news from a few days back; Ehrhoff's rights traded to the Islanders :o couldn't happen to a nicer guy...

Post subject:  Re: 2011 Free Agent Signings

Looks like Christian Ehrhoff is hitting the market after rejecting a deal with the islanders...

Bluejackets are looking hard for someone like him. We shal wait and see...

LA will go hard after Richards. Teams lining up to meet and make presentations today. Teams owners involved. Will be a feeding frenzy.

Wiz just got 6 years for 5.5. Even Dale Tallon is shocked. Seriously, the contracts we inked Keith and Seabrook toare ridiculous steals

That really makes me wonder what Doughty is going to command on the open market... I was worried that Columbus was going to poach him....

Post subject:  Re: 2011 Free Agent Signings

And so it has begun... rumor has it that Doughty is looking for 7+

no deal yet for Weber either... I hope Burke doesn't do anything stupid...

edit: weber went to arbitration, so no offer sheets are available

If Wiz gets 5.5, what is Doughty worth?

Bieksa better really enjoy playing in Van or else he is going to be kicking himself.

RT @RealKyper: #Blackhawks seem to be front runners going into Max Talbot talks but #Sharks, #Leafs remain in hunt.

TSNBobMcKenzie Bob McKenzie
Lots of interest in Andrew Brunette from NYR, CHI, NSH, amongst others, but CHI may be frontrunner. Brunette is at Wimbledon today.

Post subject:  Re: 2011 Free Agent Signings

Brunette would be a hell of an add at LW for the hawks...
