South Korea isn't a hockey nation, the time zone is a problem, the NHL and IOC don't really get along. The NHL and IIHF will probably announce a new World Cup of Hockey to run in September and give people their precious national all-star teams. This way, the NHL will profit from it.
My guess is that the USA and Canada will play nice with the NHL and withhold professionals while the Russians desert their teams to play for their country because, as Russians would say, they no geeve fock.
I won't miss it.
