Rapinoe looks like an aged anime pageboy.

I’m disappointed here. Three goals against the Vietnamese teenage boys is no bueno.

wasted time watching bits and pieces of a few matches. quality just not there; when compared to men, gap in 'quality' of teams, and the wretched j. p. dellacamera. fifa passed the law and continental assocs. have to put x-amount of men's money into women's football. just not there, not sure if it will ever get there. the quest to get chinese and in the future, indian, consumers to spend money is at a frenzied pace. africa getting more spots than s. america would make any sjw smile. poor zambia couldn't string more than 2 passes together against japan and poor fitness saw them concede 4 goals in the last 30+ minutes against a more fit japan.

You are saying that there is a huge gap between the haves and the have nots in FIFA? No shit.

I mean Costa Rica got destroyed 8-0 last year, so it isn’t just because there are women playing.

i said the gap in quality is larger than the mens' NT competitions. there are a handful of teams that won't offer any competition. it's up to the stronger nation to dictate either a 6-0 score due to horrific opposing GKing, superior fitness and skill on the day or a 1-0 score, due to finishing ineptness at the forward positions of even the strongest nations. you'll see matches where the weaker side may meekly cross midfield 3-4 times a half and will have all 11 behind the ball when not in possession.

sure, there's a gap of 1-32 at mens' wc level, not like this though.

I don’t think Vietnam had a shot on goal through the first 90 minutes last night. At one point the shit differential was something like 20-0.

I’m sure the person who tweeted it really cares too. Surely they didn’t sing it because of Biden’s corruption so it’s okay.

Are we now at a point where standing respectfully during the anthem is no longer acceptable? I also like the use of the word “refused” in the post.

Person who posted that tweet was mad they were not kneeling. So instead he went with not singing. I would love a list of events the entire team is singing the national anthem at.

I usually sing it the way the blonde three to the left of Morgan sang it, kind of halfway under my breath.

Anyway, I don't think they were disrespectful for not singing. I just thought Klavan's remark about no one watching was funny.

Don't act like you've never made a soccer joke, you bigot.

will check out s. korea x colombia in a few minutes...seems like a decent match-up of contrasting styles.

fox studio host (either strong or stone) insinuated that maybe, just maybe morocco's women could take a cue from morroco's men's side. not quite. these players don't play in higher leagues and don't go through quality french academies. germany's fraus panzered them, 6-0. stick to fluff and feel-good nonsense on the usa's trinity rodman.

Do the Colombians play like men from South America or can they withstand occasional contact?

it's a latin virtue...try and influence the referee.

i'm thinking the koreans play as a unit, the colombians seem predestined towards individual efforts. i'm hoping to see some goals...might get some due to goofy GKing.

Turned it on now and literally the first play was a Colombian dying on the field because she headed the ball too hard.

Colombia’s coach looks like a Mexican Brian Harman.

Controversial opinion here, but I’m not sure the South Koreans should be obligated to go with the Kim Jung Un haircuts they all seem to love.

good to see a competitive match. good pace for the first 20 mins, then colombia got 2 goals and the koreans nearly got one back before half. the 1 x 11 individual stuff worked for colombia on their 2nd goal..huge mistake by the s. korea 'keeper. some chippiness, could see a red. the koreans aren't terrible, but they are getting bossed in the central mid. one colombian thigh = one korean total body mass.

I'm pretty sure everybody knows somebody who looks like Brian Harmon.

She is the Udonis Haslem of this team.

Where does one find a medicinal swim cap?

2 good WWC teams put on a pretty decent soccer game and I've been to enough Red Stars games to know how crappy women's games can look. Sure they'd get beat by a HS boys team and all that, but it's not too bad to watch. Aside from the weird swim cap so they don't bleed all over or something.

the men flop all over the field all the time, being melodramatic women while the actual women pretty much just play ball.

there was a touch of satisfaction that this US team got humbled after that lame "good luck with all that" ad. it's something mbappe would be proud of, but do you really want to be the object of admiration from mbappe?
