I've heard things from people who work in bars and restaurants that make Pippen look generous with tips about Orton among other things.
So your story is that Orton was not a big tipper? You do realize for most of his time in Chicago he wasn't making that much money right?

That has to be the lamest thing you've ever said. I absolutely love Scottie Pippen too even knowing he's a bad tipper.

It sounds like you just made something up.

It's called context, but given how you are incapable of having an intelligent conversation and just look at everyone as a big meanie I'm not surprised that you didn't get what I was saying.

Orton was probably taking home a few $100k for his first few years in Chicago and he had to plan that he may never see another contract. It's not a shock that he's not throwing around money like many athletes do who are making millions.

Dude, chill the fuck out!

He made $688K his rookie season. Then 350K, 440K and then 2.8MM. I'm sure he could afford a tip here or there!

As I said, he probably took home a few $100k his first few years. I still don't get what your point is. No one even has said anything negative about Cutler today so you don't have to come by and stop the big meanies.

My favorite part is, you're making fun of me loving Cutler... while you're doing the same thing with Orton!!   Love it Rick.

I pointed out something factual. He likely wasn't a big tipper because he wasn't making that much money. You on the other hand, got into it with normal Cutler apologist Frank C. I guess it's the same thing. At least I get your point now. It's just a bad one.

686K when you're 22 years old isn't that much money? Rick must be a financial juggernaut on the scale of a Nas or a Scorehead.

Give me five dollars for lunch, Rick.

For an athlete it isn't. Half goes to taxes. Your agent gets 10-15%. Right there he is at $250k at most. You also have more expenses.

Also, on your first deal, if you are smart, you store some of that money away because a 4th round QB pick knows that another contract may not come and you then have to go find a normal 9-5 job or you keep on working hard trying to get another shot while making no money.

I certainly wouldn't be throwing down the same tips that my millionaire teammates are doing but that's just me.

BR, you're reaching big time. I'm not in any of the 100's and I still tip 20% unless the waitress was a bitch.

Hopefully cubbiegirlshamus clarifies her made up story. I agree that he should tip normally. I think most people expect athletes to drop huge tips(40-50%) because they've got the money.

When cubbiegirlshamus returns to make up more of her story I'll admit that there is no excuse for him not tipping at least 15%.

I think if you're dropping 15-20% you don't get a bad rep. But I'd like to hear the story. If he dropped a $20 on a $100 tab I call straight bullshit. Tipping is stupid anyway. It's ridiculous that I should have to pay 20% more for a service because the place the worker works gets a lousy wage.

I worked as a waiter for a summer and the full time waiters all knew who had money(country club) and would get upset if they didn't spend enough because the tips weren't big enough. Waiters are weird people in general when it comes to stuff like that but part of it comes from the desperation of going into work not knowing if you are going to make very little or a ton.

He didn't tip at all someone I know is a good waitress.

As I said above I've also heard good stories about him. He was also younger when the no tipping thing happened.

Boilermaker I'm worried you might take this question the wrong way but I hope you understand. Are you actually friends with him or something? I understand your unwavering support but I don't even push Grossman anymore.

And I was serious though it was taken the wrong way when I said Harbaugh might be a good head coach for him.

No, he just gave me a big tip in college and I wasn't even his waiter.

Well, that's because he sucks.

Wow! Even cubbiegirlshamus thinks Rick's Ortonian leanings are irrational.

Hide your head in shame, Rick.

If cubbiegirlshamus would finally admit that Grossman is an inferior QB to Orton I'd give up all talk about him.

I never got my ultimate payoff for the victory against her in the Orton-Grossman wars!
