yeah the fix was in, they got two calls they didn't really deserve and rose forced up a rough shot.
now in #basketball there's a bulls apologist arguing with me about whether brewer made the right play giving up a layup opportunity to kick it to 2-11 LOL DENG for the open 3. i say you've got the guy in the air hesitate take your chances for the layup, the out-of-town bulls apologist says the LOL DENG 3 was the way to go.
obviously, hindsight is on my side... but rose made a nice pass you had the defender in teh air get a layup draw the foul something. i think they were down 1 at that point? yeah.
I was wondering why Thibs subbed Brewer for Korver just prior to that play. It would seem if you're going with offensive/defensive substitutions that Korver would have remained in at that point.
Neither team had many timeouts at the end, which made it hard to sub Korver/Brewer for offense/defense. It sucked when Korver had to guard Stephen Jackson on their final shot. You knew the ball was going to him, and that was just a bad matchup for the Bulls. Someone had to come over and help, but they didn't.
I really love the double big man defending the inbounds play that Thibs has used a couple times this season. It's gotta be real tough to throw past Thomas and Asik, and they did their job by forcing the turnover.
They could have ran something better with the last shot, but they didn't have any timeouts. The "Let's give it to Derrick, and let him throw up a prayer" shot isn't very effective. They had 3 seconds. He could have made a quick pass to someone else to take the shot.
