I watched a bunch of good matchups yesterday, and it was great. Let's get some serious NBA scouting going on this next week. OKC, you with me?

I'm wit you.

Tonight we only got Bulls/Bobcats and Hawks/Heat. I'm only watching the Bulls game (the Hawks just don't interest me).

Tomorrow night there are 5 games scheduled. I'll probably check out Nets/Jazz and Suns/Cavs. Maybe even the Boston/Detroit game.

I don't recommend watching the Cavs. It's bad. Real bad.

Yeah, you're right Chris. Cleveland is a borderline NBA team right now.

The thing is, they're not even completely devoid of talent. They have talent on their squad, but the injuries have hurt them. It would also help if they had a real coach. Byron Scott is a "rah-rah" motivational hardass, but he's not a real coach. Keep it.

Hawks/Heat should be a good matchup. Lebron and Bosh might both be out, so you could see Miami get beat down.

Some good games on tonight. Boston trailing Detroit, Philadelphia takng Orlando to OT, and the Knicks and Rockets.

Not to mention the Lakers-Mavericks on ESPN.

Yeah, these weeks are the fucking hookup. I tend to stream a bunch of games, but it's always nice to get them up on the proper television.

Tonight I was regaled with a Sixers/Magic game where Lou Williams decided to take over the game, thus ensuring their loss. The game was a proper two possession game with ~30 seconds left, basically coming down to free throws. After Iggy drained two free throws to put the Sixers up 5, the Magic went and got a quick bucket to make it 89-86 with ~25 seconds left.

That's when Lou Williams decided to take over the game.

He proceeded to get fouled and swish the first free throw, then missed the second one. 90-86. On the ensuing Magic possession the ghost of Hue Hollins showed up and called a foul on Iggy, who was playing some prevent defense on Jason Richardson. J-Rich proceeded to work up to the top of the key and launched a 3pt shot on the run, meekly contested by Iggy, which went in while the foul was called on Iguodala. The 3pt-and1 tied the game at 90.

The Sixers had the last possession and the ball ended up in the hands of Lou Williams, who was feeling it so much he launched up a three that had no chance. The refs, determined to give the game to the Magic, put 0.3 seconds on the clock and the Magic couldn't convert. Overtime.

As OT came, I think the whole game can be summized in Lou Williams forcing a drive where the ball was stripped out of his hands right has he tried to elevate, resulting in a fastbreak layup for the Magic in under 5 seconds. Then, as if God were personally writing the script up in his throne in the heavens, Lou Will fouled the always-dangerous JJ Redick on a 3pt shot for the second 3pt-and1 in under 5mins of gametime. This put the Magic up 3pts, which managed to hold, largely thanks to Iggy not getting a proper bounce on a potential game-winning shot in the waning seconds. Evan Turner, he of the scoring-lite variety, got a long rebound and decided "Fuck it, my turn!" and forced up a hideous shot in the lane and the magic ended up walking out with a 1pt victory, no doubt resulting in Doug Collins having a good cry.

These are the kind of indelible moments that have been bestowed upon me by the league pass free preview. Mazeltov!

edit: and did you know that Bill Walton calls Kings games? Oh hell yeah! All I need is some NBA on NBC theme music and it'll be the 90s all over again.

Does he do every game sini?

That's cool if he does. You're right. All we need is John Tesh doing the theme and it's 1993 all over again.

I have no idea. I would assume he does because I saw him in an embroidered Kings polo shirt and there was a graphic that said "Bill Walton: Kings Announcer" but as it was, given that I haven't really been up to watching all that much of Kings basketball aside from seeing that Demarcus Cousins is the very definition of raw, I just was like WOW! and enjoyed the fond reminiscence of the NBA on NBC.

Now all I need is the ironically-named "Magic" Johnson to show up and remind me that it's Charles Barkley's time and the Bulls are fucked and Phoenix is gonna win the series and it'll be 500% nostalgia clusterfuck!

I was watching that last night for a bit. I figured it was the Blazers broadcast, but I never saw a shot of him in a Kings shirt. The Bill Walton, Snapper Jones, and play by play guy was one of my favorites announce teams of all times. Good stuff.
