I believe West Chicago has been mentioned because Chus bowls in his league there, and has a hookup on getting a pretty sweet deal for some discounted games. Thats what he said last year anyway..

it'll be curtains for SHARK if it's too far west. FYI.

I don't think my fellow Canadian would mind Wood Dale, it is not that bad of a drive.

We could always use the lanes in Dr Ken's second solarium.

If sub average bowlers are allowed.

sub average bowling is encouraged.

sub average posters are also encouraged, or else COF wouldn't be there.

Bowling Green in West Chicago is on Roosevelt Rd, 1/2 mile west of route 59. It is easily accessible from any direction. It is about ten minutes from the route 59 exit on I-88.

I am going up there tonight. I will see about rates for a big group outing.

West Chicago was chosen, it would seem.

no. Nothing is decided location wise.

Can someone remind me why we dont just have it closest to downtown as possible

Wouldnt that be as central as can be and also most ways to get there?

I know there is an answer to this.

I forgot.

The farther away from Chicago, the less likely Bigfan makes an appearance. :D

No matter where it is held, many people will have a long commute. It is just as easy to get from the city to the burbs, as it is to get from the burbs to the city, if not easier. The first two bowling events were in Chicago and Oak Park, so why not change it up a bit? Both of the previous houses were pretty old and rundown. I think one of them didn't even accept debit cards as payment. At Bowling Green, the lanes are in great shape. The automatic scorers are touch screen, not like the ancient ones before. The place is big enough for us to hold as big an outing as we possibly can, and there is a nice bar, with pool and darts. The Two Brothers Brewery is a hop, skip, and a jump away, as a possible post-party locale. The West Chicago train station is less than a five minute ride to the bowling alley. I could certainly pick up a carload of you pantsless cretins at the station.

I live literally next door to the Winfield Metra Station, which is one stop before West Chicago. I could transport some as well if you are going the Metra route.
