For all the talk here about Chicago meatballery, Chicago isn't close to approaching the meatballery levels of many other cities that I have lived in & visited. If you really want to see & hear some dopey sports fans go to St. Louis, Cleveland, New York, & many others. Heck, just listen online to some out of town sports radio stations.
I always appreciate the Score more when I return from a trip.

Some of the sports talk in New York is OK, or at least it used to be when I lived on the East Coast. Steve Somers, the FAN's version of Les Grobstein, was hilarious. I also used to like Kornheiser when he was just doing his thing locally in D.C.

But other than that, the stuff I've heard in LA, Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Dallas, etc, has been awful.

And the existence of sports talk radio has forever shattered the myth of the intelligent Boston sports fan. A few weeks of listening to Boston sports talk radio while I was in New England last month left me with absolutely no doubts that Patriots fans are the dumbest human beings walking the face of the Earth--assuming that most of them have actually figured out how to walk.

Well, I like Rozner. I'm with you on Spiegel. North back in the day was great, but not so much in the last 10 years. He was & probably still is the most recognizable sports radio talk show host in Chicago if you asked an out of towner to name one. B&B would undoubtedly get the most negative reaction by out of towners.
