I'm assuming that if I had a wife or girlfriend, I probably would, of course, I'd be getting laid more too, so I'm going to assume it's potentially worth it.

I'm still not going to find out what they are until I have to.

I made it about 20 minutes into the first episode of The Cape. It sucked.

Yeah, it wasn't bad. I think Jennifer Beals is an awful actress, but not bad enough to drag the whole show down. This episode wasn't great, but it held my interest...I have hopes that it won't be bad.

Fuck the cape. NBC already cut the order to 10 episodes from 13. It's history.
I watched a few of them. I don't like it when the city is fake and it occurs in some kind of fantasy world that is supposed to be the USA. Tried to be like Robocop Lite mixed with Batman.

Not a bad first episode. Jason Clarke is a good actor, and I like Delroy Lindo.

His character reminded me of Ike Carouthers.

I thought it ended a lot better than it started. The car chase with the guy pointing the gun while they had a heartfelt conversation  I'll give it another look next week.

It was okay. Delroy Lindo is good in almost anything he does, and I think he can pull off the corrupt alderman role pretty well. The rest of the cast I'm a little worried about though. The woman who played the Police Commissioner was terrible.

The first episode was decent, but the Chicago Meatball in me loves all of the Chicago scenes and makes it a must see for me...I added it to my DVR list....

One of the reasons I still love watching Cooley High and Blues Brothers.

Back last summer when FOX starting shooting scenes here, they bought a ton of lightbulbs from us.

Great call. Despite the positive things I read about it, I almost bailed after the first 10 minutes because of the scenes you referenced. Brutal. Overall though, it built steam and got better. Liked the voiceover and how it was handled when the driver got shot. Wasn't expecting that.

Also thought the scene at the commemorative wall was too over the top. When the undercover cop asked where the other guy's brother's name was, he said, "I don't know. I never look." Too soap opera-y for me.

The ratings are in for the first episode, and needless to say, they're not good for "The Chicago Code". Despite all the promos FOX has aired for the new series from "Shield" creator/executive producer Shawn Ryan, only 9.4 million viewers tuned in for the first episode of the new series starring Chicago's own Jennifer Beals. This despite the Hugh Laurie medical drama "House" drawing 12.32 million viewers to win its lead-in time period Monday night.

An episode of Charlie Sheen's "Two and a Half Men" on CBS with 15.13 million viewers and a 2-hour episode of ABC's reality show "The Bachelor" with 9.97 million viewers beat out "Code" in the overnight ratings. Although it beat out an episode of the overhyped "The Cape" on NBC with only 4.56 million viewers & an episode of the CW's "Gossip Girl" with 1.63 million viewers, the "Code" was hoping to do much better in the ratings. It can't help their chances of long term survival.

I wonder what they thought the ratings would be? I can't believe there's any chance that they thought the number would be higher than 'House', so what were they looking for. Would 10.4 million be good? If they really wanted a high number, premiere it right after the Super Bowl instead of 'Glee'. Everyone already knows about 'Glee' and they are going to watch it whenever it's on.

Agreed. I was actually shocked they didn't premeire it after the Super Bowl. Glee is already an established hit for them. They have been plugging this show for months, you would think they would use their biggest rating night of the year to try to establish a new show. But then again, this is Fox....

I watched bits of pieces. It's cool to see landmarks. The show seems like it could stick around.
I think I've used up my attention span for Drama television.
Years upon years of Law and Order, ER, NYPD, and CSI will do that to you.

I totally marked out for this show. Loved it. Loved seeing the city, pointing out shit (my wife was getting annoyed about 5mins in.) The story was good. Loved that they aren't afraid to bump off (seemingly) main characters right off the bat. Delroy Lindo is the man in every movie/show he's in. He can't help it....

Looks like I'll watch it when I'm on a road after I stop by the local UNO's (wherever I'm at) for a deep dish pizza. Seriously, hope it doesn't suck. I have very low standards.

The 2nd and 3rd episodes of this show have been great. Pilots usually suck, so I hope you guys gave it another shot after the premeire. Delroy Lindo just plays his role perfectly on this show.
