For the golfers, do we pick the order they will finish?

Yes, it is for the whole tournament, not just the round.

Well, it was fun while it lasted. Good luck to the rest of the competitors.
I guess I wasn't able to be a part of a strong enough alliance. Thanks to
newper for running everything, gotta be a bit of work to tally everything up.
See you guys at the end, I'll be watching the thread to see how things shake
out running up to the end.

Proposals? Move to two challenges / week? Make challenges Mon/Wed/Fri?

Honestly, 2 challenges a week would work for me.

Here are the picks:

https://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key ... utput=html

I won't give strikes for missing entries because of the tight deadline... I should have considered that a little better.

Going forward, we'll do two contests a week... one will be on Sunday, and the other on Wednesday. I'll inform you of the next contest on the evening of the previous contest so you'll have several days to prepare. Elimination voting will extend through two days now, so votes will be due for this challenge on Tuesday night, and votes for Wednesday challenges will be due on Friday nights. That should leave the weekend pretty free for people and give people plenty of time to plan.

I apologize, but I haven't been around my computer much at all this weekend.

Not a problem -- it's supposed to be fun, not a chore. The other website that I was on that did this pretty much necessitated daily viewing because of the main game that they played on there... I should have ran with a slower pace from the start.

I'll also be sending acknowledgment emails out after I receive entries so that you'll know your entry made it across the grid successfully. Hank's got caught in my spam filter for some reason.

Results are in. To read the spreadsheet, you'll see the green highlights which indicate the number in a row that were correct in each of the four sports. In some cases, there were multiple runs of the same value -- I randomly highlighted one of those. The results are:

Code:
Krazy Ivan    18.01
IMu           16.51
jackref       16.51
Douchebag     15.51
shakes        15.01
Hank Scorpion 14.51
Terry's Peeps 13.51
doug -ep      13.01
JORR          13.00
sjboyd        11.00

Krazy Ivan wins the immunity. He had two excellent runs in golf and NBA. Congratulations, Krazy Ivan! IMU and jackref also performed well and will get a bonus in the next challenge along with KI.

You have until 7pm on Tuesday evening to cast your vote. Hidden idols must be played by 9pm Tuesday evening. Send votes to CSFMBSurvivor@gmail.com

Next challenge to be posted shortly -- it will be a Wednesday challenge and college basketball related.

Challenge #14

Pick the winners of ten of these twelve games. You must pick only one side in any game. Your first pick will be treated as a +10 spread, meaning you will win a point if your team finishes within 10 points of the other team.
You'll continue ranking these until your final selection which will be +1.
To score, we'll start at the top and you'll get one point per game until we reach one that was picked incorrectly. All pushes will count as zero points, but you can continue moving down the chain.
There's a good potential for tie scores, so make sure to submit tie breakers.

Georgetown @ Connecticut
Illinois State @ Creighton
Indiana State @ Southern Illinois
Louisville @ Cincinnati
Loyola (IL) @ UIC
Michigan @ Illinois
Nebraska @ Oklahoma
Oklahoma State @ Texas
UAB @ Memphis
UTEP @ Southern Miss
Vanderbilt @ Georgia
Wisconsin @ Purdue

Example submission:
Creighton +10, Purdue +9, Oklahoma +8, Loyola +7, Indiana St +6, Georgetown +5, UAB +4, Southern Miss +3, Louisville +2, Texas +1
To score, let's pretend the ISU@Creighton finish is 54-62. I've covered the spread handily, so I get one point. Moving on to Wisc@Purdue, the final is 67-60. Purdue lost, but since I get to add 9 points to their score, I still cover and I get an additional point. Neb@Okla was 69-61... with my eight bonus points, I've pushed. I don't earn any points, but I can continue to the next game. Loyola@UIC finished 45-50, which means I cover and get another point. Indiana St @ SIU finished 52-77. I didn't cover or push there, so I am done. I've earned three points in this contest.

The top three from the last challenge (KI, IMU, jackref) can choose one of these options with their submission:
  • Take A Point: Each of your lines will be increased by a point. This means that you will start with a +11, and move down to a +2.
  • Direct Challenge: Declare another survivor contestant and list two NCAA teams in your submission. If he has chosen either of these teams, his entry will be flipped to show the opposite team. I will inform him via e-mail that he has had a direct challenge played on him, but I will not disclose who played it.
  • Random Quest: Declare that you are choosing random quest in your submission. Using random.org, I'll list your teams and randomize them. I will take the top three teams and switch them to their opponents. I will then re-randomize the list, and make the first pick your +10. The remaining picks will be in the order you submitted them (with the opponents taking your originally submitted spots where appropriate.) If you finish within the top two in this challenge, you will recieve secret immunity (for the winner, this is in addition to the standard immunity which only lasts for this challenge.) I will not disclose that you have selected this option, nor will I disclose any secret immunity.
Highest scorer will be immune from elimination. Also, -anyone- who gets all ten in a row will be immune. Top three finishers will get a bonus for the next game.

Tie Breakers
TB1 Highest Scoring: Georgetown or Wisconsin
TB2 Highest Scoring: Illinois State, Loyola (IL), or Southern Illinois
TB3 Highest Scoring: Georgia, Texas, Oklahoma, or Cincinnati
TB4 Total score by Michigan

Entries are due by 5pm on Wednesday to CSFMBSurvivor@gmail.com and don't forget those tie-breakers. I'll be periodically checking email and will send a confirmation when I receive your entry. I will check @ 4pm Wednesday before I depart from work… after that and you're taking your chances. :) I don't expect any issues, but want to keep the playing field as level as possible.

Hopefully everyone has a good time and is able to play the game the way it should be played, ignoring any tom foolery. Good luck to everyone and have fun.

Geppetto was a kind, older gentleman...a comparison I am very proud of.

You're more like...Richard Heene.

I'd never be able to convice anyone to hide in a balloon, I've tried. You, however, are quite fond of puppets, from what I've been told by a few people.

You didn't get voted off - you got 3 strikes from not sending in votes or missing challenges.

It was very enjoyable...I know you got the idea from another board, but still fantastic execution. Definitely one of the top members now...must have been a bitch to organize this...and then keep track of everything day in and day out.

Well, the curtains are falling...adieu, Survivor. Maybe next time...

Time to see who will be voted out in Challenge #13.

Both Hawg Ass and Terry's Peeps have played valid immunity idols. Votes for them will be discarded and those idols are now removed from play. I'll go tally the votes.

The first vote is for Terry's Peeps and will not count. The second vote is also for Terry's Peeps. The third vote also is cast for Terry's Peeps. The next vote is for immessedup17. This is the first vote that will count. The fifth vote is cast for immessedup17 as well as the sixth vote. IMU has three and there are no other valid votes. The seventh vote is cast for Terry's Peeps and will be discarded. The eighth vote goes for immessedup17, giving him a total of four. The ninth vote is to Terry's Peeps. The tenth vote is cast for Terry's Peeps. The eleventh and final vote is for immessedup17. IMU, you have been voted off in Challenge #13. You will be jury member #2. Please take your place with T-Bone in our luxurious juror mansion where scantily clad ladies are ready to serve you your favorite beverages and lavish you with all kinds of attention.

To the remaining contestants, the deadline for Challenge #14 remains 5pm tomorrow. Good luck!
