I was wondering if I could sneak that one past you guys to see if anyone really reads everyone else's list....

You sniffed it right out.

My tenth entry really is Jophn Deacon from Queen who I feel is very underrated.

Actually, I wasn't surprised at all - we've already seen Ryan is friends with one other Hebrew without much talent....

Speaking of Primus, they're playing the Brawlroom on November 17th. Anyone down for going? Doug........

Flea is excluded because he's annoying and I hate the Chili Peppers. I think Scott Lucas put it best when he said, "Please no more California songs"

he indeed put it best, but you need to quote the whole line

"please no more california songs........and Ffuck new york too!"

RHCP are annoying, but flea is great. go back and listen to some early early peppers...back when they wore nothing but socks.

I guess this is where I differ philosophically from those who would have thoughts about who is the "best" bassist or the "best" drummer or guitarist. I listen to a piece of music and either it does something for me or it doesn't. I'm not very concerned about who is playing it. People can argue all day about whether Paul Burlison or Grady Martin played on "Train Kept A-Rollin". I don't give a fuck. It's a great song whoever played on it. I have no idea who played the drums on the Kingsmen's version of "Louie Louie". I just know that shit swings.

Being "the best" isn't a particular attribute I need in my rock and roll band. I'm sure I can find a "better" drummer than Charlie Watts. Yeah, let's put Hal Blaine back there. We may as well replace Wyman with Michael Manring while we're at it. And Keith? Fuck him. He just lost his job to the great Joe Satriani who brought Steve Vai with him to take the Brian Jones-Mick Taylor-Ronnie Wood spot. Finally we have to get a better singer. Jagger is often off-key and caterwauls like dog caught in a fence. Fuck! Too bad Luther Vandross is dead.
