Other than the Telander Buffone Hood train wreck this has to be the worst show ever....crap I forgot about the current Afternoon Saloon.

can't believe he lasted as long as he did, and if you say he did have the highest ratings on the Score, it confirms my innate belief that most people are fucking idiots.

I like that Murph's shows had structure and actual research/planning. It wasn't just grab the mike, rehash last night's games, and take calls. Of course, being a Cubs fan helps. I can understand Sox fans not being as amused or interested in him.

For pure entertainment value, if Murph and North were on another station right now, I would listen to them over any current WSCR show -- other than maybe a reincarnation of the Heavy Fuel Crew.

Not sure if you were around for the early North years. I do agree with most people who say there was a definite decline in quality near the end of the North era. However, if you had listened to the Monsters back in the day, and you didn't think North was entertaining back then, I guess we'll just have to chalk it up to a difference of opinion. But there was a reason he was able to sign a $7.5m contract.

Two things. One, I am probably old enough to be your father, so I was around at the beginning. And two, I agree with you about the old days of the Monsters and the HFC, but you spoke in the present tense with your opinion regarding listening to either of these now "has-beens".

You're right...when I said I would listen to North, I guess I meant the "old" North.
