He's only getting a shot because of his good looks too.

It was looking like she was going to get the pole for a while.

But Clint Bowyer did his fatherly duty and kept her off the pole. Starting 4th.

Dale Jr qualified for the 3rd starting spot in NNS exactly 10 years after, to the day, his Dad died.

Weird.

Heard from somebody that there is a good chance this will be Danica's last year in the IRL and move on to NASCAR full time.

Erin Andrews has won 1 less race than Danny. Actually, we've all won 1 less race than Danny!

Must be a lot of cup regulars up front in both Nationwide races this year for someone who hasn't finished on the lead lap of either race to be in 4th place. I'd still put her in a car over Robby Gordon.

By mid season Danny will be around the 20 spot.

She's not running the full schedule so we'll never know "what might have been..."

Ken...you watch racing, as I do. You know what you see when you watch Danica. You see the same thing that I do. Mediocre driver, but hot.

She's relatively hot - compared to Kyle Busch or Jeff Burton.

I don't see much yet. But, she's had success in other forms of racing and I do see her improving. She wasn't too bad at Phoenix - stayed out of trouble and was passing some people.

What I do see, is the potential $$$ and eyeballs for NASCAR, which means more sponsors, more fans, better ratings and all that other good stuff that is great for a sport that I love to watch.

I don't have much of an opinion of her personally either way but I'm hoping like hell she gets to be an adequate enough driver in the next few years to be competitive in some races in the Sprint Cup circuit - same as I do for Juan Pablo Montoya or will for Darrell Wallace Jr. hopefully by this Fall when he turns 18.

I watched about the last hundred laps or so- she was consistant, took good advice from her spotter and used it, and benefitted from pit strategy like most of the top 5. She was definately working the wheel all the way around the track!

The Nationwide cars look better than the Cup cars.

Danny had a very good day today. Even a blind Squirrel finds a nut every once in a while. Trevor Bayne won the Daytona 500. Things happen. I still have as many Nationwide wins as sweetcheeks, & 1 less than her in the Indy car series. Do you think she's a HOF'r yet?

The blame should go to her spotter. She was racing with Ryan Truex for a few laps and he did move left away from the wall.
She wasn't passing him coming out of the corner. Her mistake was oversteering after contact and making a right turn into the outside wall. That's what destroyed her car.

I did enjoy the facedown on the track and the pouty pants stomp. It's just one of those racin' deals. :)

It seemed like she kept saying, he was racing me hard, I think she has to learn that some drivers are that way, if they are in the top 5 are 3 laps down.

Maybe somebody knows more about this, but the craziest thing that happenend to a woman driver on Saturday, I can't rememeber name, something like Mary Joe or Mary Ellen, but she qualified the car, was going to be a start and park car, she probably didn't want to do it, but I think agreed, and then 10 minutes before the race, they cancelled her contract for another driver to drive. ESPN tried to talk to the owner, but he couldn't hear due to the sound, and the lady said people were talking to her about racing in California.

Jennifer Jo Cobb. She qualified the car, but right before the race was told by the owner that they were going to start & park. She refused to do that, he threatened to get NASCAR involved (wimp?), so at the last second she refused to get in the car.

Best part was that the crew and crew chief were actually her employees, not the owners, so she took them with her too. The car was sitting all alone and unattended before the start of the race.
