I liked it too.

This thing promises to be a treasure trove of imaginary geography. I'll start it off with 1645 W Harlem! Anyone else noticed anything? Have at it.

The only annoying thing about the show is that they apparently only taught Jennifer Beals how to say the word "time" with a Chi-cah-go accent and so they work the word "time" into the script as much as possible.

They need to give up on trying to sound like they are from Chicago. Otherwise, I really like the show.

One thing that bugs me about this show is the awful Billy Corgan theme song in the opening credits.

Bad...

Frank's old band has a song that would have worked better.

Last night was the first viewing for me. Location/scene shots are great. The activity between the alderman, mob and commissioner lady were also good stuff shoved into a one hour bag. Billy's little diddy is going to have to grow on me. As Douchebag mentioned it left something to be desired.

The only issue I have is I find the relationship between the undercover cop and the commissioner is not believable. That is a huge stretch for me. Did I missed something that explains how these two can work "closely" on some issues of the city without proper city chains of command being followed?

O.K., for the internets experts, where can I find episode 2 on-line. Forgot to "series" set the DVR and missed it.

Fox might stream them online. Back before I had a DVR, I remember catching a few episodes of 24 on there.

This show is really strange. Sometimes I think I like it, sometimes I find it exceptionally corny and dumb. The alderman angle is fantastic. The Cub/Sox quips need to be dropped as they get dumber as the show progresses.

Oven Grinders' pizza? WTF? Never had a chance to have a pizza from there. What am I missing?

"Homeboys in Outer Space" disagrees with that.

im still undecided. i actually think theres good actors on the show but theyre just giving bad performances. some parts theyre really good, a lot of it theyre just forcing whatever it is theyre trying to be.

justified was like that though. the first half of the first season was atrocious. i thought it was the dumbest shit i ever saw. now i watch the newest episodes and its actually really good. it matured very quickly and it sort of feels like chicode might do the same. like i said i like the people they chose for the various roles, they just need to gel more.

I finally got through all the episodes. I'm like spmack... the chicago meatball in me eats this stuff up with a spoon. I think I would like it more if I didn't keep comparing it to The Wire... every other cop show kinda pales in comparison to that one.

Shawn Ryan is the guy who created "The Chicago Code", as well as 2 other action series, "The Shield" with Michael Chiklis on FX, and the underwatched "The Unit" with "Allstate" pitchman Dennis Haysbert. The ratings for this "Code" haven't been all that great despite all the promos FOX had aired every 5 minutes or so prior to the Super Bowl. There's a pretty good chance that "The Chicago Code" won't be around come September when the fall season usually launches.

I'm a fan of this show, but whoever handles the music needs to get off Billy Corgan's knob. He plays the theme song, and there are always Smashing Pumpkins songs throughout all of the episodes. Surely he could have found other Chicago acts to use in this series.

I think it's worth watching. There's only 2 episodes left, and Fox says they will air, so you won't be left hanging.

You have to look at it as, for the Shield since it was on FX, they could get away with more than the Chicago Code being on Fox. That could have hindered Shawn Ryan.

So I finally watched the first episode of this last night.....And my god it was bad. Terrible accents....wooden acting....too many fast cuts. The only character in the show that I found likeable at all was Delroy Lindo as the badass alderman. The location shots were interesting to see and the city looked great. I guess my question is does the acting get any better or is it the only redeeming factor of the show the city itself.

I'll agree that the Pilot was bad. Probably the worst episode in the series. First episodes are usually bad, IMO. I would give it another shot. Delroy Lindo's character is defintiely bad ass, and I'm hoping things all come together in the finale.
