My draft is tomorrow night and I have the 2nd pick. Everyone says I have to take Hanley but I'm thinking of going with Car-Go. I had Hanley last year and he wasn't great and now he doesn't have Uggla hitting behind him.

I understand taking a SS because the position is so weak but I never draft based on position and at the end of the day (or week) you have to fill up the stat sheet and Car-Go did that better than anyone.

Is Pujols an absolute lock at #1? I would take Hanley or Tulo before Cargo.

I second the Tulo nomination- it's not hard to grab decent 3-4 category OF

Yeah Roidface is going #1. I love Tulo but he's too injury prone for the 2nd pick. If I'm picking a SS I'd go with Hanley.

Last year Car-Go was the best player in our league: .336 34 HR 117 RBI 111 runs 26 SB's 197 H (for some reason hits is a category in our league). That's a MONSTER season and he's only 25 yrs old.

I got cargo at #9 in a draft the other night.... that was surprising. I had one other #9 pick in a draft and ended up with ryan braun.

Call me old fashioned, but I'd still take Miguel Cabrera at #2. Basically, with your first round pick you want to minimize the ability to fuck the pick up, seeing as leagues are won in deeper tiers/pickups/etc.

After looking a little closer you may have sold me on Tulo. It's going to be a gametime decision. Hopefully I don't get too gassed this afternoon. 8)

Keyser, can you list the first round of your draft and how it went?

Dude went crazy in sept/oct...or the roids kicked in...He won me my league.

He hit 15 of his 27 homeruns in 30 games. Not sure what to make of that.

Thats a little high for A-Gon. Considering first base depth.

I still think A rod is going too low. I see him 15th,16th in most drafts.

Longoria should be 4

I think A-Pud went 16th. I was happy as hell because I was able to get Wright with my 2nd round pick and come back with Prince in the 3rd.

I remember last year I was able to get Miggy like 17th or 18th overall, and then I forgot about shortstop but Alexei Ramirez was still out there in like the 6th or 7th round

I'm pretty happy with this one. It's an 8x8, 10 team league. Pitching walks are included, which is why I'm giving Duensing a chance. Braun and Votto were my two keepers. I had to let C Gone go, who was the first pick in the draft.

I was #1 last night and took Miggy. By the time it got back to me I took Adam Zimmerman and Carlos Gonzalez

Pitching heavy league Chus?

It's a points league, but still geared to the hitters.

Austin Jackson is for sure the steal of IMU's draft. I just traded Cliff Lee away for Kendrys Morales and Mark Reynolds.

My 5x5 13 team league with 12 keepers league:

There was one team contracted after last season and I had first pick because I bought the team late last season and came in last.

C-Yadier Molina
1B- Konerko (keeper)
2B- Kelly Johnson
SS- Mike Aviles
3B- Mark Reynolds
MI- Placido Polanco
CI- Cuddyer (keeper)
OF- Swisher (keeper)
OF- Rajai Davis (keeper)
OF- Torii Hunter (keeper)
OF-Luke Scott
OF-Seth Smith
U- Magglio Ordonez

BN- Grady Sizemore (keeper)
BN- Kendrys Morales
BN- Jhonny Peralta, soon to be dropped-draft error

P- Beckett(keeper)
P-Jaime Garcia(keeper)
P- Gio Gonzalez (keeper)
P-Jonathan Sanchez (keeper)
P- Ryan Franklin
P- Derek Lowe
P- CJ Wilson
P- Travis Wood
P- Carl Pavano

BN- Brad Lidge (keeper)
BN- Brandon Morrow (keeper)

Once Morales is healthy I move him to my CI position and Cuddyer to OF and sit Seth Smith.

I was in a league where we all had to smoke a joint and do 4 shots of Vodka before we picked and I got Pujols after Braun too! COME ON!!!!!!!!!

I actually Love Braun, I think he is one of the best pure hitters I have ever seen in terms of generating power and the ability to hit the ball anywhere he wants, only second to Cabrera, but as talented as these guys are, PUJOLS is a Freak of Nature! And without any proof right now, the guy is closing in on the title of "Best Hitter to Ever Play the Game"

10 years of no less than 30 HR, .300 BA and 100+ RBI's, 3 MVPs. 4 Runner Up MVPs, ROY,

Most similar might have been Joe D! who had that little war thing that got int he way of maybe the best first 10 years in the league.

Hey while there's a fantasy thread open, I want to ask you guys question about a trade. I've got a Dan Uggla for my David Price deal sitting there tempting me to hit the accept button in this one league... it's a 5x5 12 team roto deal. Per my usual style, it has the pitching armada going on.

C - posada
1b - adam dunn
2b - beckham
ss - jhonny peralta
3b - neil walker
OF - ryan braun
OF - vladimir guerrero
OF - juan pierre
util/OF - brett gardner
util/3B - edwin encarnacion

(i'm fairly certain that i'll be able to shore this up as time goes on. i always do) and now, the armada

SP - roy halladay, jon lester, david price, tommy hanson, jeremy hellickson, carlos zambrano, and everyone's SP mancrush, jordan zimmermannnnnnnnnnnnn

RP - carlos marmol, brian wilson and the supporting band which I call "the scrubs" brian fuentes, sergio romo, jon rauch, and jake mcgee

I asked this on teh fantasy baseball cafe and it was literally a dead split saying "you've got enough pitching, go for it!" and people saying "dude, it's dan uggla. i'd roll the dice with david price... coutner offer for his pedroia (as the guy has pedroia, uggla, and brandon phillips) --- i've also mulled a hellickson for brandon phillips offer.
