Uh oh!

Don't have all his spring stats, but just wondering if a good inning existed because I know there was not a good game!

I know it's spring, but it's still baseball. Some guys can tell me they start slow, like Adam Dunn...followed him for many years and the guy does start slow, but always ends up with 30+ HR's...I am just scared Garza might allow More HR's than Dunn hits! Wager?

i like the garza pick up, not sure why his spring has been awful.. i still think he can dominate in the national league.

Garza will be in the Cy Young talk when all is said and done this season. Everyone needs to chill out about the Cubs, they are going to be fine this year. Division win and playoff run 8)

I agree.

Spring training stats don't tell the entire story. He may very well have been working on some specific things instead of pitching to his already known strengths.

When Jake Fox takes his 10 ST home runs and carries it over the regular season and hits 45 then I will be concerned with Garza's bad spring stats.

Fox, I believe, is listed as the backup catcher.

Yes they could, but she has pleasantly not been around here in damn near 3 weeks.

I know a lot of people don't care, but some of his saber stats are off the charts. His BABIP is a ridiculous .474 right now. This is the one that's often referred to a 'luck' stat. Normally it's around .280 to .300 for pitchers.

He hasn't given up a homerun late and his ground ball percentage is the highest it's been sicne he was with the Twins in 2007. He's walking 2.79 batters per 9 so his control hasn't been bad either.

The results haven't been great obviously, but I'm with RPB, he's going to be fine.

I figured out why Jim Hendry had to make this deal (aside from the Cubs' obvious desire to do everything they can do to stay as mediocre as possible during their "don't call it rebuilding" process to keep hapless bandwagon/WOO-CUBBIES types coming out to the ballpark all season), ahem, it's that Chris Archer is too much of a motherfucking GANGSTER to play on the Cubs. Peep his swag, y'all:

Image

LOOK AT THAT MOTHERFUCKING SWAG!!!! The dude's already got a little mini-fro and whenever you see him pose for a picture he looks like his body language is conveying the phrase "motherfucker WHUT?!?!!"

The Cubs don't have any room for gangsters in the friendly CONFINES, namely because the rivals to Archer's crew run the block in the Friendly CONFINES so they didn't want Chris shanking anyone during rec-time, therefore, they had to deal him ASAP for a top-tier middling pitcher in good ol EXTREME RULES MATT GARZA!!!@

I did not know Archer was the son of Cocoa Crisp.

i used to see this all the time with Prior hoping he would break the record.

You need 12 thru 5 to have a legit shot.
