Sorry pal, those are over. Now you're going on girlfriend listening walks. To be followed by girlfriend listening television, and girlfriend listening quiet reading time. Trust me on this. I've lived it and graduated to wife listening sleeping.

I've gotten nowhere on my quest to dropping below 210. I think I am going to
find a half marathon and sign up, forcing me to get in shape or embarass myself.
This worked last year when I signed up for a 10K and knocked it out. 13.1 miles
is a long way to go without stopping so I better step up to the plate. My goal
would be to finish in less than 2 hrs and 15 minutes. I finished my last 10K in
just under 59 minutes. W_Z am I being a bit too ambitious with my time goal
here? I know the 2nd half I will be slowing down a little bit.

Perfect Sit Up.

Anyone own one?

I have the Perfect Push Up, and it works pretty well. Just wondering.

I'm assuming you already have the Bowflex and Thighmaster.

My company has fed us the past 2 days, and its hard to say no to free food.

And although I've been hitting the weight bench, I've slacked off on the treadmill which was extremely vital to my weight loss (along with the healthy eating I've slacked off with just a bit....)

I'll be back on the treadmill tonight, and starting on Saturday I will put a huge focus on the abs for the next 30 days.....I don't care much for a 6 pack, I just want it to be flat.

try doing a 10 mile run and time yourself to see where you're at. i don't think you're being too ambitious with that time but you'd at least have an idea on your pace. if you can manage a 10 mile run and still have something in the tank, you're good to go.

Thanks, I'll work up to that and give it a shot.

You're averaging about 13 minutes per mile.

If you have time, get those long runs up to 11 or 12 miles. I have done two 10 mile runs, an 11 and planning a 12 next weekend before I do my first half.

2:15 is a good goal, but remember that's 10:20 roughly per mile for the course.

Just got back from 5 days in Mexico, lots of tequilla, cerveca and tacos. Back on the diet today, but not gonna hit the scale for two weeks out of fear. Was at 193 before I left and hoping to be at 193 when I weigh in, but wouldn't be furious if I was as high as 195.

My commitment to excellence continues with 2 hour gym workouts about 5 days each week & eating healthy. I have completely given up red meat & Beer which for me is something. I love steak, but I'm eating the hell out of fish & chicken & drinking Vodka. I've dropped 20 pounds & 2 pant sizes.

I did 3.75 miles in 49:00 min on the treadmill yesterday.....felt like passing out.

Gut is still a "gut", so I'm going to shed 10 more pounds and see if that helps...that would bring me down to 195.

Finishing up Week 3 of P90X this week. Results have been good to this point, but I'm also fighting a gut issue.

Anyone currently take or have taken protein supplements in the past? Any recommendations, or are they all the same?

Are you the same person I played golf with on Saturday? You don't have a gut issue, now I have a gut issue. :D

Under 230 for the first time since last summer. :alien: Still 25 more to lose.
Unfortunatelyl I believe it is due to stress rather than good old fashioned hard
work.

Well, growing up I was always super-thin. I'm talking like 130 pounds up until my 22nd birthday. Then I went to college and packed on about 50 pounds of Bud Light, pizza, and never lost it. I'm not a big guy by any means, but I'd like to make a valiant effort to get back to around 165 if possible.

Sounds like me a bit.... I was 6'2 160 in high school.....rail thin....

Got into the 200's in my early 20's....was up to 230 at age 27, and 225-228ish last year.

If I get down to 195, that will be the lowest I've been since 21 or 22.

Haven't lost any weight this year but finished my last long run before the Great Western half marathon next weekend. 12 miles 2:03 - pretty happy with it.

Stomach isn't flattening like I want it to, so I am going to shed 10 more lbs...will get down to 190-195 over the span of 30 days. If anyone has any good ab exercises, let me know.

The key to dropping the weight off your gut and getting tone is about 80% diet and 20% doing good core abs exercises. You really need to target all four groups or you won't see any of the results you want.

P90X Ab Ribber X is amazing. It'll destroy you, but it works for sure.
