Listen Brain, I may not be old enough to be your daddy, but I'm damn close. It all started the day I was born.

Cool

But you know as good as Castro is, and he looks like he's gonna be a great player, he doesnt seem like he's gonna be someone you build a team around.

He's a piece, albeit a very good piece

Gonna need some more talent in here eventually

That same thing could be said for the last 102 years, for Christ's sake. I think he may be a piece you can build around. I think his defense will come around. All young players make mental errors. He came up when he was twenty years old. Ken Griffey, Jr. threw to the wrong base at times, Robin Yount came up as a 18 year old shortstop and was less than stellar defensively. Castro is a player you can build around.
You may understand as you age...

After all the shit players Hendry has held onto and overvalued, it would be only fitting that he would somehow trade away Castro.

Well well he's as responsible for the fact that Castro plays for him as much as he's responsible for Soriano.
Why do we overlook the great moves the dude made?

Hendry did not find Castro. I imagine Fleita found him, or some other Latin scout. Hendry blows...

Well, yeah, you're right, he didn't fuck it up. So, he has that going for him, which still sucks for us, because he is sill here.

Yeah, it's all right. I got my toothpaste.
Really though, I'm just sayin, I'd take just about any other GM in the league.

I love Castro. I think he can be great.

But what or who is he at his best? Jeter? Renteria?

Its just the lack of power for me. Hard to be the centerpiece when you cant hit 25 homeruns

I mean Schmidtty's assessment is perfect, wish he had power but Ill take him raking.

Need some more rakes in here.

Shit, Castro had one less homer at 20 years old than some other Cub from the Dominican Republic. In 8 years he'll be hitting 60 a year obviously.

Oh for Christ's sake, he is only at the beginning of his first full year in the majors. Do you understand that?

You actually think you are older than I am or are you just kidding for the sake of affect?

Im 30

But do you expect Castro to devolop power?

I could see 15-20 homeruns

I just think that the Castro rise last year kinda makes it seem like the future is better than it is.

My main point here is What else is there on the horizon? Castro and what?

The what is not the point, Castro is. What is on the horizon does not make Castro a player you cannot build around. It's whether you have an organization to put the pieces around him.

I'm happy for you that you have made it to 30. I would figure you being much younger.

Ramirez. Soto. Marmol.
Good moves. A little better than a blind squirrel. I'm just surprised to see such meatballery from the notoriously joyless Reason.

ramirez is becoming more of a disappointment the longer he stays here.

his decent picks have not come close to how badly some of them have turned out. but i will not put the nomar one on him; that was just unfortunate.

Im not sure how much Hendry has to do with the finding of Castro or Marmol

He has made good moves. When he's got a fat checkbook and can afford a mistake here and there, he's good

He'd be a good gm for the yankees I bet

Remember StoneRoses?

Wish he still posted here

Marmol was signed as a shortstop. I'm sure Hendry oversaw his move to pitcher.
Ramirez was a Dave Littlefield fleece for money.
Soto hasn't really impressed me that much, other than his rookie year.

Fuck off.

LAUGH OUT LOUD!

What are you talking about Willis?

I mean he is getting frustrating

But that trade was a Win and a half

One of the most lopsided trades in MLB in the last ten years.

he's gone from one of the most deadliest hitters to just being dead. what difference does it make. he has been quiet in the most dire times for this team.

and with the pirates owning the cubs lately, it's just poetic justice.
