Is Jim Joyce umpiring this series?

Why is this series being played in Chicago during cold and rainy months? They should be down in Arizona for this.

Almost though you forgot to start the series thread.

The D-backs are better than the pirates but still not very good. I'm sure Stephen Drew will find a way to hit the piss out of the ball all series though.

Hopefully Byrd got his shipment and has a better series.

Expect a Shark sighting today.

Another series we 'should' win. Wells today, so I feel good about todays game. He's going to have a very good year.

I'll post the lineup when it's out. Hopefully something like

Castro
Colvin
Pena
Ramirez
Soto
Byrd
Soriano
2B

The lack of lefty hitting will be a problem today against Saunders.

I dont think Colvin goes today. I would rather he does but I dont think it is gonna happen.

Yikes, I wish I was wrong but here we are... Have to get Byrd out of the 3 hole before it turns into a train wreck. C'mon Quade!

This lineup need more Barney and more Colvin.

Soriano is inching ever closer to a date with the Atlantic League.

That is, if he even plays.,.. wacky willie bloomquist has been a "surprising source of short-term steals" in fantasy baseball through opening weekend, and it seems that our perennially underachieving friend (look where he was drafted) might have to go to the DL.

Baker hit .350 in 140 AB's last year against Lefties so that explains his start.

Byrd .357 in 171AB's, so him in the 3 hole again is slightly better.

Both Fuk and Colvin kind of blew last year against LH. Fukudome hit .262 in 42AB's and Covlin .250 in 108AB. Fuk OPS'd about 40 points higher. Kind of a push.

meh

The lineup just looked off with him there. Hopefully he gets settled down but I didnt like what I saw those first 3 games.

I agree. But still too soon to be using data from this year to make decisions. I'm fine with making some decisions based on last year productivity at this point. Give the team another game or two and I'd bet Quade starts shuffling the lineup

I'm fine with 12-game road swings to start the year if it means loading up the schedule with day games in June when Wrigley is at its best.

It would make perfect sense to start the baseball season in warm-weather cities and then avoid them when it gets absolutely stifling hot, but apparently whenever baseball has tried to do this, the assholes who run the Diamondbacks and Marlins bitch about not getting enough summer dates of their own (which nobody goes to anyway), so here we are opening the baseball season in Chicago and Cleveland on March 31st with the Diamondbacks coming up to town. Smart.

What they really need to do is move Soriano back to hitting leadoff.....He's got 40/40 potential!

I get the questioning of Byrd as a legit #3 hitter, but who the hell do you put there? Actually, Marlon is more justifiable there against LHP than RHP.

Baker should absolutely play every time against southpaws. He murders them, as far as I can recall even back to his Colorado days. Barney is in there against righties for his glove. I don't think you lose too much between Barney and Baker with the glove, but DeWitt is not a good defensive 2b. He's passable at the hot corner, but his bat doesn't play well there at all, hence why he is a man without a position.

Agreed with all of this.

You continue to mis-quote 312 in your sig as it was I who was pointing out his lunacy.

I'm not going stress about the lineup until we get into later April and Quade continues to produce similar lineups with no results. Let's give this man a chance with the 2011 Cubs

Wells give up a leadoff homer and Baker makes a really really bad play at 2nd.
This season will be bad.

And yet another 10 pitch inning for the other guys.
Getting really sick of that kind of thing. :?

First person that I know (or at least "know of") that PM's me gets it - expecting a real high demand for this one........ :?
