At least Pena made the pitcher throw 7 pitches before striking out with a RISP

That is Pena's version of a walk.

Dislike using Sean Marshall for one batter. He's one of our best pitchers. Trust the fact that he can get a pinch hitter out regardless of handedness

But you have to take into account that it is Xavier Nady....the most dangerous hitter on the planet....Nobody can get him out

Agreed. Typing something very similiar. 3 relievers to face 4 batters when I'm assuming he'll used Wood/Marmol in 8 and 9.

I would have kept Marshall in.

Wells will be GREAT this year.

I'm not trying to start something but is Wrigley normally this empty for the early games when the weather isn't great? The stadium looks like US Cellular today.

Yeah, not a big fan of this type of stuff. He is completely overthinking this thing and way too early in the year. Leave Marshall in the game and trust him to get the guys out.

No, I think Wrigley looks abnormally empty. Not a good sign, although it probably means I will get some free tickets this spring before the frat boys and pink hats come out in July to watch the 1st place Cubs.

Attendance looked pretty down for the Pirates series considering it was the opening homestand. Year 2 is going to be a down year at the gate for the Ricketts. They better hope the Cubs find a way to stay in contention or it is going to get really ugly as they won't have all of the presale tickets already in the bank like they did last year.

While we are on the subject I don't know how I feel about using Wood 3 out of the first 4 games this year. It is not like the guy has an injury history or anything.

Slow hit ball. Pat and Keith saying he took an extra step and threw off line to Pena. Upton running hard, but a play Starlin needs to make.

Whew. Intentional walk w/ one out to load the bases and Wood gets out of it.

@Phil. Wood is on pace for 121 eighth inning appearances.

Both Marmol and Wood shouldn't be available tomorrow.

There are dozens of $1.40 tickets for the game tomorrow on Stubhub. Earlier today there were tickets in the 2nd row right behind where the Ricketts sit for $90 a pop.
