The guy continues to prove that his inclusion on the roster was a horrible mistake. Time to waive him and let that spot in the bullpen go to a pitcher better able to contribute to the team.

Elmhurst Steve is the first person on the board who has espoused this opinion. Congrats Steve.

Amazing insight

The Shark is actually showing some promise with that tight slider, but unless his command improves, he is toast. My bet is he is toast, or if he does make it, typical Cubs and it'll be on another team.

Awesome! You should call into Mac, then Waddle & Silvy, then Mac again, then Afternoon Saloon, and then B&B with this thought. I mean seriously, if you think you got recognition already steve, you call in with a thought like this and you won't have to 'fake' racism to win a steakdinnerboom.

Every team needs one piece of shit in the bullpen. Someone needs to eat innings during a massacre. Samardzija is the Cubs equivalent to Will Ohman.

Just gotta stop putting them in games that we are winning.

Steve you fuckin' idiot. Why do you call up Mac to bash Ohman instead of enlightening the Score audience with this thought you posted here?

The Shark is awesome. He is the kinda guy you build a pitching staff around.

WAIT!

While I have been the first guy to say Samardjza is done once the season goes and he should really consider football, why can't the Cubs sell his contract to the Bears????

Baseball teams sell contracts to Japanese baseball teams and I understand it is a personal service contract to play baseball, but at some point this season when it becomes obvious to even Jeff, that his baseball career is about done and assuming he wants to play football (Which is the first issue), maybe the Cubs sell the contract, for maybe $500K? and the Bears attach a $500K signing bonus for camp, then a $1M roster bonus!

Could even be weaseled legally to let him practice with some coaches, before he signs the deal! Making him a non NFL player!

Lotsa crazy angles! and you will never get an honest response from him while under his Cubs deal, but when the 2011 Cubs deal is done, perfect time for him to get a practice squad deal with anyone and see where he stands!

But in games where you need a guy to come in and Wood, Marshall and Marmol have been used in 2-3 games straight, you need to have someone reasonably capable. This guy is awful and keeping him on the roster is a signal to the players that decisions are based not on which players give the team the best chance to win, but on contract status . How this turd is able to hang on while Silva was released is a mystery. Both should have been released. We have seen what this guy is capable of and it's not good enough to warrant a spot on the roster.

No NFL team should a white receiver.

Thread Over.

First of all, youre crazy. Ricky Proehl is the greatest reciever that ever lived.

Secondly, Im not suggesting the Bears actually sign him. All Im saying is he was very good at football the last time he played.

By far the greatest white receiver- and maybe the second best receiver EVER behind only Jerry Rice- is Lance Alworth.
