All 705 CT Starts

4/11- Dempster 0-2 6.59 vs. Figueroa 0-1 10.13
4/12- Russell 1-0 0.00 vs. Myers 0-0 2.03
4/13- Zambrano 1-0 5.25 vs. Rodriguez 0-1 6.55

I felt like Myers always owns us. Looked it up and he's 10-3 against us with a 2.21era and .94WHIP

2 out of 3 is a must. Tonight and rubber game.

I think tonight's game is the only chance for the Cubs. Meyers will throw a CG and Wandy can be very effective as well. Might as well not ever play the game tomorrow. I can't see Russell being effective as a starter and the shark will probably be pitching his last game as a cub to follow him. Tonight should be a W though.

Wandy Rodriguez is a Cub Killer. He's throwing a perfect game this series. Brett Myers will pitch a one-hit shutout and beat his wife.

I hate to say must win series but losing 2 out of 3 again would make for one hell of a bad start. They need to feast on the Pirates and Astros, not lose their opening series to both. Good news is that Shark will likely make such a mess of Russell's abbreviated start that they will have no other choice but to cut him.

I would like to see Dempster actually getting some people out for a change. Cubs win 2 out of 3 to get back to .500.....wooooooooooo

Take away his numbers from his rookie year, and then look at it. The guy feasts on bad Cubs hitting.

Last year he had a 3.60era, 2009 he was good with 1.35era, 2008 he had a 5.40 era, 2007 he had a 4.15.

He's obviously decent against us, but the 3.79 career era seems a fair indicator

Oh No!! As if this past weekend was hard enough, now the Cubs have to play the Astros and they are GOOD! REALLY good, apparently! I didn't realize how good until I read the bad news in this thread!

Wandy Rodriguez has NEVER lost a game he is SOOOO GOOD. As a matter of fact, if you took away all of the bad performances he has ever had against the Cubs, his ERA is under 1.00 against them, and he is undefeated! Oh my, not WANDY! All of his Cy Youngs and big-time playoff performances will be too much for the Cubs to win an early season April game. Brett Myers is so SCARY and so GOOD the Cubs hitters should be very worried and intimidated. It's HOPELESS! The whole Astros lineup and terrifying and loaded with All-Stars and MVP candidates! It's so obvious that the Cubs have no chance, winning one game will be a BIG DEAL in this series!

Ryan Dempster is terrible. That's all there is to it. He will never pitch good again. He would be the first pitcher ever in the history of baseball to win a game after 2 losses. His ERA over the Astros the last couple years is 3.50, but if you take away all of his GOOD performances it is about 10.00 which is bad! That proves he isn't nearly man enough to match up with the mighty Astros!

Oh dear, this is a TERRIBLE matchup for the Cubs. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE let them escape with one win and just leave that terrifying place and all of those scary awe-inspiring Astros players.

PANIC! PANIC!! PANIC!!!

Actually, the biggest factor in his effectiveness vs the Cubs or any other team, largely depends on whether or not he's pitching at home or on the road. His record and ERA are substancially better at Minute Maid. Thats a bit ironic, as that is a pretty good hitters park. But Rodriguez has been very good there and fairly mediocre on the road. Unfortunately, this game is a home game for him.

With 3 guys hitting around .215 in the lineup ,it will be intersting to see how much rope Quade gives some of these guys. 9 games in and already two players have mentioned a missed sign. Pena swinging at a 3-0 pitch & Byrd trying to steal. Quade needs a sweep or at least 2 of 3. Losing another series to a crap team does not bode well.

There is a term that fans and people "in the business" use...it's called Splits. Look into it.

i can remember we hit Wandy real hard early in his career, but the last couple years, he's done good against us...of course, that parallels the general improvement in his career

 IMU is on the MUSCLE today. Awesome. Pretty soon he'll start noticing other changes in his body as well. Congrats, man.

Anyway. I love BaseballReference.com It's pretty much all you need, and often there are hilarious sponsors for players pages. Because for a small fee, anyone can sponsor a page.

It's ridiculous.
