That Vandy/Arkansas series this weekend was fantastic. I know we are young, but there is a lot of talent on that team and the young pitchers have been outstanding.

I thought your Hogs were going to win the series after they beat Sonny Gray on Friday night. The freshman have been outstanding. Why didn't Davenport pitch this weekend?

Florida/S. Carolina was a really good series too. S. Carolina lost a lot of pitching but they've had guys step up and they can hit the hell out of the ball which is huge because these new bats have totally changed the way the game is being played.

Why Davenport didn't pitch is beyond me, unless he is hurt. I have seen them ranked in other polls, but Baseball America is not showing the love yet. :(

A lot of outlets just look at the records. That's why I love Baseball America. They actually scout the teams and make rankings based off of what they see and the level of competition the teams play. The Hogs showed well against Vandy but the series loss to Auburn was a bummer.

They have another tough week with a Tuesday game against #10 Oklahoma and a series at #25 Alabama. A 3-1 week could get them in the top 25.

Not sure if you saw this Hawger. BA knows this is a huge series.

Keyser, thanks a ton for that as that was really interesting. Arkansas in all honesty has bewildered me along with a lot of other people. I believe they are 16-6 overall, and in one of the coaches polls, I saw them 13th. Their pitching has done their job, it is time for the bats to wake up, and starting with Kuhn.

My pleasure, Hawger. I knew Kuhn and Carver weren't hitting but I didn't know it was that bad. They need those two and Bingham to start producing. It's too bad about Davenport needing Tommy John surgery. He was really throwing the ball good.

I had no idea Miss St was so going to be this good. Hopefully Georgia wins 2-3 from them this weekend and Vandy takes care of Auburn.

If you get the Fox College Sports channels (647, 648, 649 on ATT U-verse) Kentucky vs. S Carolina is on at 6:00pm tonight.

No, I don't. I have the 300 level package and just upgraded to that, but now I am thinking I may just want to say screw it and go to the 400 package. :|

I'm looking forward to watching those games too. Your Brewers have the 12th and 15th picks in this years draft. Keep an eye on Jackie Bradley Jr (OF S. Carolina) and Mikie Mahtook (OF LSU). They could be picked by the Brewers or Cubs.

At least the Hogs salvaged 1 against Bama but now get LSU. Welcome to the meatgrinder.

BA did it's first tournament projection and they have Arkansas as a 2 seed going to Oklahoma. It could be worse but they have to start winning some series.

Keyser, it is amazing to me how good Arkansas' pitching has been. Expected to be the weak spot, it has been outstanding. I am :drunken: , and I can't remember the kid that was shut down, but they have been still really good. They just have struggled swinging the bats, and it just doesn't make any sense.

They got some hitting that inning.

Holy smokes what a game. McCann KILLED that ball! HUGE win by the Hogs.

Geoffrey Davenport is the pitcher who got hurt.

That pitcher kept throwing breaking balls and they were all hangers and the last one he didn't get back. That ball was crushed, my son and I were asking each other if it ever landed.

Another big weekend in the SEC, Hawger. Vandy at South Carolina will be a great series (Sunday 6:00pm on ESPNU) as will Florida at Georgia (Saturday 4:00pm on ESPNU). The Hogs need two out of three against Mississippi St. Can the Vols win 1 against Bama?!?

South Carolina won 2-3 from Vandy and will be the new #1 team in the country. The Cocks are the defending National Champs but this is an amazing feat considering all the pitching they lost from last years team.

Not only did the Vols win 1 but they won 2 from Bama this weekend and Arkansas moved into a tie for 1st place atop the west division after winning 2-3 from Mississippi St.

There's a new #1 and for some reason it's not South Carolina. #1 Virginia moves to the top spot after sweeping lowly Duke while #2 South Carolina wins a series against the top-ranked team for the second time this year (#4 Vandy and #5 Florida). #3 Oregon St moved up 6 spots and into the top 5 after a road sweep at Stanford. #13 Georgia Tech moved up 2 spots after winning 2-3 at wake Forest. #14 North Carolina dropped 7 spots after being swept by North Carolina St. #21 Arkansas moved up 4 spots after a series win against Mississippi St. #22 Rice, #24 Gonzaga and #25 Miami move into the top 25 while Stanford, Troy and Alabama drop out.

Sorry Keyser, I didn't see this earlier. It was a busy weekend for me watching it rain down in Champaign, while my son was supposed to be playing baseball. Very pleased with the Hogs effort and the young team continues to impress me.

Your Hogs have moved into a 3-way tie for 1st place in the west and have a trip to Kentucky this weekend while Bama goes to Vandy and Ole Miss goes to Auburn. They gotta take advantage.

Did you get the games in yesterday? How old is your son?

You live in Wisconsin, right? I take it he's on a traveling team? My nephew was on a traveling team and it's crazy the places they went for tournaments. I hope you don't have any major projects planned for around the house this summer.

No, I don't. He actually plays on 3 different teams, but he has 1 main team. It is crazy, but he likes it. Also, I know it is not for every kid and some will think I am nuts, but as long as he still enjoys I will let him do for the most part whatever he wants. My golf game has suffered though because of it. :( and yes, I live in Wisconsin, where it is fucking snowing right now.

That's a lot of baseball. Glad he enjoys it. Things should slow down when he gets to high school. Those games are a lot closer to home and you can always throw him on the team bus and go out to play 9 holes. :drunken:

Yes, I know. They will actually start to slow down after this year. I really want to get back out playing more golf, but there will be plenty of time for that. Can't get this time back watching him play.
