Former longtime WSCR-AM sports talker Mike Murphy is returning to Chicago radio -- this time to WSCR-AM rival, WMVP-AM. "Murph" will begin hosting a Sunday morning show on ESPN 1000 this weekend.

Joining Mike Murphy on this new show will be his former WSCR-AM on-air sidekick Fred Huebner. The two will talk baseball and more with fans for four hours each weekend. The show is scheduled to run from 9:00am-1:00pm throughout the baseball season (when not preempted by a Bulls playoff game).

That will be a good role for Murph. Glad to see Fred getting another gig

This is a good move by ESPN1000 and also for Murph.

Fred's been on weekends - whether it be with Bruce on Saturday or by himself or partnered with somebody.

The people that don't want to get into cybermetrics and all of that other inane baseball talk, but prefer Murph's special brand of emotionally micro-analyzing all things Chicago baseball will be happy.

It wouldn't be baseball season without Murph on the radio imho. Maybe that's why last summer was so lame.

I'm glad to hear this. Murph may have been a tool to those who worked with him, but I always enjoyed listening to his show. I enjoyed Murph and Fred mornings on the Score and look forward to hearing them again.

Murph will have Macs head on a pike outside the Espn chicago studios in no time! Even though they aren't on during the same time.

Oh well.

I'm really happy to hear Murph is back on the air. I know he is not for everyone but even as a Sox fan I enjoy his show. His concept is really what the Score was originally built upon. Just fans talking to fans.

I listen on weekend mornings having coffee and running errands. I actually like listening on weekends.

I'm happy for Murph. His style still has a place in the sports talk landscape. I don't think I'll listen much, but I might stop in.

Murph's act grew tiresome at the Score, especially near the end of his run, but I'm actually looking for to this show.
