I PREDICT (yes I am saying it like I mean it) that Garza gets his first win as a Cub and then they find a way to win either the Coleman or Dumpster game and take 2 out of 3. Maybe just maybe Carlos Pena hits a homerun before May as well.

Oh no! Not the ROCKIES! They are SO GOOD! The Cubs are really bad and should just skip going to Denver, its so HOPELESS. Winning two games against the dreaded Rockies is practically equivalent of beating the '27 yankees!

Mike Quade is such a terrible manager, he should be shot. This team was expected to win lots and lots of games and be so good and to only be .500 is just plain upsetting! He is the main reason too, after all, he had major input into the makeup of this roster!

Have you heard that Hendry is the worst GM in the league?? Its true, I read it here, on the CSFMB! No GM has EVER done this poorly! He should be bound, blindfolded and flogged to death for all of his mistakes! There are some people on this board who just have BRILLIANT ideas and make it all sound so EASY! Why can't Hendry see that as easily as all of the message board posters? After all, ALL the best players are lined up outside his door BEGGING to play for the Cubs, it is as easy as steak dinner BOOM!

This series is so important, they can't afford to drop 2 of 3 or worse! Thats what I read about the Astros series, and WHEW it a good thing they won 2 of those! If the scales had tipped and the Cubs had won only ONE of those games the season could have been lost!

There is trouble afoot, people! Things are getting desperate! Its April 15 already, and some shit is about to GO DOWN if this team doesn't start hitting its obvious potential, and soon!

PANIC! PANIC!! PANIC!!!

AAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

4 run deficit already? I am guessing Byrd could have made a play and Castro sailed the cut off throw over Soto's head. Sounds like tonight could get sharky.

Byrd misplayed a ball and than Castro airmailed the throw to third for the 4th run.

Too many runs too early on the scoreboard. We're gonna need a bigger boat...

Garza has 83 pitches through 4 innings.

Attention all swimmers. Clear the water....I repeat.....clear the water.

I was worried about his pitching style in that climate. Averaging 20 pitches an inning is not a promising omen mid way through April.

Garza has to be done now. 105 through 5.

Someone prepare the harpoons.

So far I haven't seen a Cub hitter hit a ball anywhere near the fences in COORS FIELD. I didn't think that was possible. Aramis has 3 yes 3 singles. What the hell. Zambano needs to pinch hit.

2 on and nobody out and Coleman works out of the jam without giving up a run. That was nice to see. He gets a pop-up and strikeout, before getting a grounder to 3rd to end it. Giving up the double to start the inning had me concerned the Rockies might well go ahead in the game. Nicely done Coleman!

Castro is having a helluva night. 4-4 and is currently over 400 for the year.

Grabow getting shelled and walking the ballpark. He's certainly earning that 5M Hendty gave him.

I didn't have any problem with acquiring grabow, but the contract he got after that was absurd.

Hill got his first hit of the season. In addition to that there were 16 other hits, a quarter of which went to Castro. Barney with another 2 hits and Soriano had himself a game as well. Soriano has actually been pretty damn decent so far this year. He may be climbing upwards in the batting order. Big game tomorrow. I think Dempster will forget the last few starts and shove tomorrow.

Another gem of a contract given out by Jim the Boob.. I bet TribCo made him do that too.
I am on record here, unless it's been pruned, as wanting to let Dempster walk. I think he would have been worth at least one first round pick as a free agent.

Hendry blows.

Good call. A three run lead in Colorado is insurmountable.

I don't think RFDC would care for your help in any matter. But I digress. While I don't hold out much hope for this season, I have been watching baseball too long to write any team off in April. Other than the '97 Cubs, who didn't win in the first two weeks of the season.
