Thanks J! It felt good to finally get my first post off my chest.

I wish i had more time to research the email addresses of ALL of North's sponsors. I only sent the email to the sponsors that listed their email addresses (as opposed to websites) on northtonorth.com

Hopefully, this board will be able to influences decisions made by Score management and sponsors. This guy really needs to be made accountable for his idiotic comments

I love that sponsors response. It was basically, "sure he's a racist, but I've met him and he's been nice to me so that means he's a great guy."

For some reason Pappy has this effect on people. I'll give him credit for that. He's got all of these local sponsors hypmotized with his loud mouth, back slapping, and drink buying. LOL.

Well Brian, I agree with Jerry- change the station. I'm no fan of North, but empty threats really don't work. How do you boycott a service you don't use? Especially over something "you read on a message board" and didn't hear?
The best way to rid the airwaves of the MNMS is simply to not listen. The numbers will decrease and the show will get cancelled if that happens.

Doomed,

i really don't think i made any empty threats. I have, in fact, stopped listening to his show and will no longer patronize his sponsors. it's true, i don't use "That Special Event", but i did go to dunkin donuts, i've bought electronics from the little guys, and have gone to gibsons.

the way to get mike off the air is not to stop listening. i don't keep an arbitron diary, so by me simply turning off the radio, well, that' won't mean a thing. the only way i can make a difference is to hit them where it hurts the most.....money. north will ultimately get thrown off the air by losing revenue for cbs.

with that being said, my main goal isn't to get mike thrown off the air. it's to make him accountable for his comments. he thinks he's the teflon dj, and that must stop!

on a related note, paul agase just sent me this email:

Brian…Mitch forwarded me your letter and we are looking into this matter ….if you would like to talk to me directly please contact me at 312-245-6067 thanks you…pa

One of two things could be happening here - either management is paying lip service by saying they are looking into it, giving the personal phone extension, etc - or Mitch and Paul didn't hear the comments from North. This was not reported in the press - it did not have people up in arms like some of his other idiotic statements or actions.

Let's see what happens next - if it is the second scenario, this could get interesting.

It's more then just Pappy making 'shocking statements' to be that radio guy trying to draw attention.

Think of the work enviroment he creates at the Score. I don't know how many black people work at the Score but I know at least two.

Holmes and Goff. How the hell do you think they feel when the morning man says Obama "got his intelligence from his white side of the family."

If you don't care about what listeners think shouldn't you at least care about your employees and what they think.

He can use them all he wants as long as the next thing he writes is:

I hate to totally sound like Annie here, but anyone know exactly what Mike said?

Was all this being said in a serious conversation ?

even sounds a little outrageous for him?

Big fan,

I happen to have heard the comments he made and in a nutshell, what he said was that since Barak Obama was of mixed ethnicities, the smarts he has comes from his "white" side...Again, another case of foot in mouth disease coming from the king of putting his foot in his mouth.

What's amazing though is that nothing happens to the guy. In reading the initial post to this thread I was amazed by the response that the business owner gave to Brian. It's obvious to me that he can't seem to figure out that idiotic statements, whether made by a friend or not, are just that...idiotic statements. And when one has a history of making comments that possess racial overtones to them and has them defended by advertisers to his show, well Brian was clearly in the right to call the business owner out and tell him that it's not simply a matter of just changing the dial that we have here. This guy is saying Mike is a great guy, which he may have been when he bought drinks and hustled this guy to advertise on the show. Clearly, this business owner has no backbone and, perhaps, carries the same thoughts about racial issues as Mike North does. How else can he defend what was truly a racist statement .

One would have to assume from the reply from the one sponsor, he also is racist or finds it ok to make racist comments.

Did Pappy just threaten legal action against the authors of these letters ? Is he out of his mind ?

The balls on this guy are unbelievable. He is threatening legal action against "people on dem chat boards" because they are slandering him. No, Mike, you are the one slandering people. The people that sent these letters are pointing out your ignorance.

He claims that he never read the board until last night (My BS meter is off the charts). He said that it is 4 people sitting around their computers with their pants around their ankles. Oh wait, I better stop, or I will be named in the lawsuit. What lawyer would take this case, Jackie Chiles ?

The way North threatened the "legal action" was seriously weak and it was just a threat meant to scare those who emailed advertisers. There is no way he will follow through, so for those who were threatened, don't take it seriously.

By the way, North said that he and management listened to the comments and that is not what he said. Hmmm. Why don't you replay what you said, Pappy? I'll bet because they don't have it word for word, but they were pretty damn close.

Mike North is a no-talent, has-been, loser. He can't sue me for writing that because it is 100% true.

So the guy is all about freedom of speech, now he gets called out and he is going to bury people. Here is a idea Mike, think about what you are going to say, instead of spewing your own special brand of hatred. Problem with Mike is that he has become so blind with this "fame" of his, he doesnt have a grip on life anymore.

Oh I think a lot of lawyers will take on a slander case.
He claims the tapes prove he didn't say what Brian says he said. If that's the case, then people should be worried.

The relevant issue is not whether The Idiot can prevail in a suit filed against Brian Tummy Ticks. Rather, if he is upset enough, a suit could be filed for the sole purpose of financially ruining Mr. Tummy Ticks, who would probably incur multiple thousands of dollars in legal fees to defend a tort not covered by any insurance policy.

The Idiot has vast resources and a hot temper. I would be slightly concerned.

I bet they dont now, I am surprised they didnt "lose" that tape. Mike said it and if they present anything else, they have cut the tape.

Agreed. If that tape proved that North didn't say something extremely close to what Brian claims he said, they would have played it already.

I can't see where Tummy Sticks could be in any trouble. He asked the sponsors and the station to investigate the comments; he didn't accuse Mike with any certainty of saying anything.

He was discussing some woman in FHM or Maxim. He predictably focused on her ethnic persuasion, but was very careful with his words, so as not to upset a Rodeo Vann.
