Good Programming is a good thing, no matter what time if it gets me to tune into the other station, as I do in the afternoons now due to Ed and DJ, then I end up listening to Silvy and Waddle, which eventually makes me tune back to Mac and Spiegs, then I either turn off the radio in the eve, or turn off The Larry Show.

Glad to see Murph get this gig. There are many a Murph fan out there and I am one. It will be interesting to get his take on the Cubs, especially Quade, Hendry and Ricketts.

Hopefully they'll podcast the show, as I'm usually inert that time of the day.

Nonetheless, am happy to see he's back.

I couldn't take much Murph during non-baseball season but in the summer months I too enjoyed him.

And over the past 22 months it has struck me as ironic how even though Danny, Danny and Terry apparently don't care for Murph, they nonetheless did a great job keeping his memory alive by their all-too-frequent bad impersonations of him.

Heard a bit of Fred and Bruce Levine this morning, and Fred was spending time on something that "really bothered" him...that all MLB players wear 42 on Jackie Robinson day. That may be the most Fred Huebner thing ever.

I missed Murph. Hopefully WMVP puts him on 9-1 weekdays so I can listen to something legit instead of Mac's tired shit WSCR has in the same timeslot. Very glad to hear him on the air again. Maybe I'll just listen to a podcast of Murph's Sunday show everyday from 9-1 instead of that ear rape 670 broadcasts.

I believe the show was not even an hour old before I heard the first "VOOOOOK!" insurance plug. Sigh, some things never change, they just go to another station. Murph is fine during baseball season. His football insights leave a lot to be desired and when it is between football and baseball seasons, he may as well talk about baking or gardening.

I caught a couple of segments. It is good to hear Murph back on the air. I liken it to getting back on that old worn out bike you left in the garage for several years. Seat doesn't fit right, in fact it hurts, but you know it and are comfortable with the pain.

That said, I personally am not interested in any thoughts this man has on basketball. Even the on air interviews are bad. He has no idea how to ask a decent question and what to talk about. I will listen for his baseball chatter and I think that is going to be about it.

"Let the fans drive the show" is great in theory. In practice, though, most fans are dumb.

The weekend is the perfect spot for Murph.

Or overnight. Then you could have the Battle of the Meatball.

Great counter-programming by ESPN. Meat is a Cubs fan though,too. The rest of the SCORE seems to be SOX fans. That could be why most of the hosts sound like a_holes.

Good to hear he's back, too bad he can't find a regular gig. WGN seems like the perfect choice , but he won't kiss the Cubs ass so that'll never work out. Hope he's calmed down now with some of the things that were reported as his transgressions here on the board.
