The Trib had a picture of a lone Cub fan sitting amongst the empty seats. Guess what? The picture & the story about a small crowd was removed!?!

I saw the pic. At first I thought it was the Cubs trophy case, but then I realized it was just the empty grandstands.

Are those empty seats disguised as the Cubs season ticket holder 'WAITING LIST"?

Barely 20,000 at the Cell on a Friday night - 1st home series of the year, vs. the defending AL East champs no less.

Looks to be even less than that tonight. Another Friday night against a marquee team......

Good thing it wasn't a weeknight then. It would have looked a quarantine center.

And I didn't start this thread, but I think it will come in handy for me all year long. :D

Especially on a night like tonite at Wrigley. They may announce 20K, but it will be more like 11 or 12K actually there.

Understood. The same process they use when they announce 20k for two consecutive Friday nights at the Cell.

By the way - I've got an extra for tomorrow night in the bleachers - you interested? Should be at least 35 degrees at game time, but I can't promise dry conditions. For some reason nobody seems interested in these tickets......

36,500 on a Monday night, terrible weather vs. Padres. That's only 3,500 less than the Sox have drawn on their last two Friday night games combined!

Great thread you started here!!! :D

Err, forecast says 100% of rain and possibly storms. Maybe a rain out.

I have bleacher seats. :? :(

over 70,000 tickets sold for the day/night DH last night. Horrible weather, Padres aren't exactly a big name.

Great thread......

I must be missing something here....Should 40,00 Sox Fans spend about $100 on the evening to watch Bernstein's hero, Adam the Oaf Dunn, take strike 3 with the bases loaded?
I found the Predators-Canucks game entertaining.
