I dont listen much to the morning show anymore but cmon it just seems to me that some people have a little too much time on their hands. Letters to sponsors?? If you dont like what North has to say change the channel. Letters to sponsors are not going to stop them from buying adtime on the Score. North is loaded, do you think he cares what people actually think of him?? Give it up and listen to someone else.

Pappy makes fun of all races, religions, etc.

If he went on a vent about 'Asian people' and only Asian people all the time, it would be a different story.

Bernstein makes fun of obese kids - maybe all the advertisers should pull their ads.

I love when Pappy says Jesse Jackson's rainbow coalition doesn't have 'white' in their rainbow. I really thought alot about that statement leading up to the Super Bowl, seeing as the first 'minority' head coach to win two Super Bowls never came up: Tom Flores of the Raiders.

This world has become way way to politically correct imho.

I'm no expert, but if all you did was alert sponsors that he MAY have said something inflammatory, I can't see how he has a case.

Can't agree with you on this one Grid. While I'm sure he has "made fun of" all kinds of people, he has frequently exhibited disdain for 'Asians' as well as anyone from the Middle East. He usually makes no attempt to differentiate between different cultures, but rather lumps people together by the color of their skin. IMO, he has an almost unnatural obsession with race - inserting it into almost every interview or news story. While there are numerous examples of PC madness, that doesn't mean that a line doesn't or shouldn't exist. Pappy has certainly crossed that line many times in the past.

He said that Barack Obama gets his talent from his white side or whatever. As a African American, he might as well as called us all "n-word". Its a racist statement from a racist person.

Ok. Is that exacly what he said? That's what I don't get. He thinks because he used talent instead of intelligence that it makes a difference. So Mitch and Paul listened to it and still don't suspend him?

Then Pappy gets on the muscle like he's been wronged. Typical Pappy style make a stupid, hurtful comment and then act like you are the victim.

I also find it rather odd that he said he would "forget the whole thing" if those responsible apologized. When was the last time Mike apologized for anything?

I don't listen to North's show regularly anymore, so I have no idea if he goes out of his way to criticize any particular race. Back in the Monsters of the Mid-Day era, I think he sprayed to all fields, including the mocking of 'caucasian men'. This morning I was incapacited on cough syrup and other meds - so I have no idea on who or what he went off on.

Mike North is what he is. He was this way before he got his fat contract, and he continues. He doesn't want to be politally correct. He prides himself on it. Otherwise he'd be buying into 'the wussification of America' and inside, he'd consider himself a sellout.

I'm confused, he wants people to apologize for what? Opinions?

Am I wrong in believing that the threats only inolve those who e-mailed sponsors?

The thing that offends me most is sending a private message to an individual and then posting the response for public consumption without telling the person in advance that his response will be posted publicly. I think it was poor form by the original poster and I would recommend that Bigfan take it down simply based on that indiscretion.

I also agree with BudDude. It may be offensive, but there are much bigger windmills to charge after in this world.

While I disagree with the current format of the show, I am an unapologetic fan of norths. I understand things get said on occasion that offend me. I still am generally entertained, and that is all I am looking for in me ENTERTAINMENT.

Did somebody do that in this thread? I'm so lost. I've spent too much time in this section today.

You are correct. He named 3 guys this morning and I don't doubt that he will proceed with some legal action. Whether he can win or not is debatable, but he can make it expensive for those 3 guys.

Being sued by a public figure once upon a time in my young life, I can say North's case does not hold water unless he can prove that you intended malice on him. And by malice, you are threatening his well being. That is very hard for an attorney to do. It seems to me that the three of you were stating your opinion and you also were stating it to the sponsors in efforts of making them aware of the type of guy you believe Mike North is.

The bottom line is this, if North wanted to call the three of you jagbags and end it, that would have been all well and good. But to threaten litigation on air is a little over the top if you ask me. His sponsors, judging by the response laughed it off, and are still in his corner. He has not lost any income, nor his job. He therefore should let this one go. He might be trying to flex and make you guys back down because his feelings got hurt, kind of like my situation.

On the other hand, like many have said here, he is going to do what he is going to do, and he is going after everyone it seems. I would like to see more of you guys challenge him on air about his remarks (after getting past Jen Jen). I think that would make for good radio, and everyone on this board can talk about that then. It is a shame he wouldn't take the call.

IF <ringing> Mike did file a lawsuit, doesn't that mean that Mike has to give a deposition and the defendants attorneys can ask Mike a bunch of really embarassing questions? or even questions of which the answers might not be so flattering?

That's where it gets expensive for the 3. They have to hire lawyers, who we all know don't work for free. If he wants to, he can punish them by making it a very expensive proposition to defend themselves.

someone has to know a lawyer that would take this case, if that even happens, the amount of publicity would be worth the price of defending them

Two words- Public Defender, no cost to the guys. Mike wont sue, he is just pouting that he got put on the spot.

Also, good luck finding them, email addresses are the only ones here and who to say they have used their real names and they could always deny it. I dont see this being a huge deal.

Public defenders don't work civil cases, just criminal cases.

I stand corrected, but the court wont require a lawyer if they cannot afford it. Plus if he did sue and win, whatever they award him, declare BK, its done.

I'm soory, but did good dolphin say he was entertained by Mike North? can we please ban him form this board - that mua be the miost iognorsant thing said on this boiard yet!

Son, you need to read a book - hell, learn to read - anything, if you think North at any time in his career was entertaining! More to the point, what incredibly funny bit has he come up with - that, according to past
producers, he didn't buy from a service or have someone do for him ( see Shakey and others who write his stuff))?

Nobody in particular here, but this North obsession that some of you have really creeps me out.
Is getting him fired going to make any of your lives better?
Wouldn't your energies be better focused and more productive elsewhere?
You people scare me.
