Great show in Ottumwa tonight. Nice mix of blues and classical piano boogie woogie. Doors classics thrown in with a great Crystal Ship piano solo by Ray. The old man can still play like he did 40 years ago. Closed out with Riders On The Storm. Took Q&A and told great Jim Morrison tales. Roy Rogers is a great blues guitarist but Ray stole the show. Wife is ten years younger than I so she did not know if she would like the concert but really enjoyed it. Was cool to see a rock and roll legend in person with front row seats.

  You never owned a Cougar but you want one now? I had two (68 and 73). Wish I still had the 68. Had a 74 Gran Torino Sport also. Ran like a raped ape. Also had a 1985 1/2 Pontiac Grand Prix 2+2 Richard Petty Nascar replica. Only made 1800 of them they are worth $40000 now. Sold mine for 16000 in 1997. Had 23000 miles on it. Ever want to go back in time?

That's a wardrobe that Marty McFly could really get behind, if you know what I mean...

That was Gene Autry, the Singing Cowboy. He sings Rudolph, the Red Nosed Reindeer.

Hey Scooter,
That's pretty cool. I'm envious. My list of cars reads like Mr. Middle-Class America:
I had a black 1983 Cutlass Supreme (red interior,of course). That was pretty cool but mechanically, the car sucked.
I also had a 1998 Thunderbird which is probably my favorite car. My wife made me trade it in for a Ford Windstar. (I'm a henpecked SOB,I guess  )

What's taking DB, Bagels, and the other NBA heads so long to post this?

You beat me on that one. I'm usually pretty good with remembering 90's NBA bums, but even I don't remember that guy.

Yeah, definitely a bum....his best year was his rookie season where he averaged 6 points...

I would've really loved this show. I'm a huge Doors and Manzarek fan. I remember Ray being interviewed by Roe & Garry about 10 years ago when he wrote A Poet In Exile. He pretty much did a 20 minute infomercial on the merits of hallucinogens.

A7X  The first song he played was boogie woogie jam called "Smoke A Little Reefer". Then he went political and told us that Iowa needs to legalize pot. I agree. So does the whole fucking country. He is a charming storyteller and awesome on the keys. Hard to believe he is 76 years young.
