Sorry but its too close to game time to not get this started.

4/22 Billingsley (1-1) 4.91 vs Coleman (1-0) 4.22
4/23 Lilly (1-2) 4.09 vs Dempster ( 1-2) 6.84
4/24 Kuroda (2-2) 3.33 vs Big Z (2-0) 4.21

Here is the interesting lineup for this afternoons soon to be delayed game. Now why the hell is Pena batting ahead of both Byrd and Soriano. He can't drive in shit right now so it might be more helpful to have either of those guys batting ahead of him.

K. Fukudome rf
D. Barney 2b
S. Castro ss
A. Ramirez 3b
C. Pena 1b
M. Byrd cf
A. Soriano lf
G. Soto c
C. Coleman p

I would imagine its about splitting up the lefties for when a reliever may be called into the game. Not that Pena can hit any pitcher.

I am starting to think the Cubs should pull a LaRussa and start batting Pena 9th and having the pitcher hit 8th.

I think he is about due for a phantom DL trip and elongated "rehab assignment in Arizona and then Iowa". The problem with this is that they pull the trigger and call someone up to play first alongside Baker.

Just play Colvin there everyday until you can trade Fuk at the deadline.

Colvin should just play there everyday, period. Trade Fuk, bring up Jackson to play CF, and move Byrd to RF.

Pena has hit the ball really hard, so I look forward to some better days and soon!

How in the world is the field gonna be playable today? Might as well just make it a 7:05 start.

Got to love his .208 slugging percentage.....I hope he turns it around sooner than A-Ram did last year

You know.....as bad as Colvin is doing...he isn't any worse than Pena with the bat right now. While I want him to work it out in the minor leagues....working it out here isn't that bad (given that he isnt a butcher in the field) because there is zero offensive drop off by taking Pena out of the lineup. Give him 2-3 weeks with Baker spelling him while Pena is on the phantom DL.

I was searching the stats last night and Coleman has as many extra base hits as him this year. He has 1 double and that is it.

It's a single a walk or a strikeout with Pena. I am actually most excited when I see him try to bunt against the shift

More extra base hits this year:
Pena or Pierre?

Unless he gets hit by a Mike North Billboarded CTA bus soon I think that's an under.

Damn. I picked Ethier in the beat the streak contest but changed it because I didn't know if they'd get the game in today. Michael Young better get a hit tonight.

My gosh, I looked Matt Kemps numbers and he is tearing the cover off the ball right now. He can't keep this up all year..... can he?

Well anytime they want to demote Russell and Coleman would be great. This guy has no out pitch and his stuff is shit.

50 pitch 3rd inning and counting, just awful. Great job by Quade and Riggins again. These 2 couldn't manage a pitching staff if it was loaded with Cy Young winners.

I didnt want to post a new thread for this so I am just throwing it in here.

Brian McRae arrested on DUI suspicionEmail Print Comments10 Associated Press

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Former Royals outfielder Brian McRae has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence after a traffic stop on Interstate 435.

Police in Overland Park tell The Associated Press that the 43-year-old McRae was taken into custody at about 3 a.m. local time Thursday and released later that morning.

Police don't know whether McRae has an attorney. McRae's home phone has been disconnected.

The Kansas City Star reports McRae has faced two previous DUI citations. One in 2004 led to a conviction, but an Overland Park judge cleared him of the second in 2000.

I wonder if Mel Rojas was involved
