Jay Cutler and Kristin Cavallari are heading to the alter, according to People. The magazine is reporting that the Bears quarterback proposed to the former MTV reality TV star during their vacation in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico over the weekend.

The public first became aware of the relationship in September when Cutler and Cavallari were spotted together at the old Angels & Kings bar in River North. Unlike the notoriously private Cutler, who has kept quiet for the most part about the relationship, Cavallari has been open about her boyfriend on Twitter and in interviews.

Cavallari tweeted "I love JC with all my ♥" during the Bear's playoff win over the Seattle Seahawks in January. And when asked if Cutler was “the one” during an interview with “Access Hollywood Live” in February, Cavallari responded, “I would like to say yes.”

Cutler, 27, and Cavallari, 24, have spent much of the NFL offseason in the Los Angeles area, which is where Cavallari resides. During the season, they were regulars at some of Chicago’s most popular restaurants –- including Mastro’s Steakhouse and Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab.

"I'm just enjoying my personal life and taking a little time away from the public eye, which is why Chicago is great for me," Cavallari told People in January. "My mom and that whole side of the family is there. And Jay is there. It's nice to be able to hang out with my mom, and, you know, I'm in love and it's been great."

I appreciate that he is marrying a 24 year old. I would have recommended doing it when he was in his late 30s.
