If they put Dempster on the DL who do they replace him with? I just read they are thinking of calling up Jay Jackson to replace Russell. Would he replace Dempster? Keeping Russell in the rotation is not an upgrade. I'm afraid this is something Dempster is going to have to fight through.

Riggins blows. We need Wells back. Dempster to the DL. Bring up Jackson until Cashner gets back. Coleman back to AAA.

Pitch every game with only the bullpen.

Ramon Ortiz!!....only if Dempster is actually hurt though..if not he has to keep taking a beating
For everyone that thinks Carpenter is coming up...he isn't even starting at AAA...he is in the pen.

I'm just glad I dropped Dempster from my fantasy team before this start. His 3 awful starts with 3 blown saves by Joe Nathan was enough to fuck me pretty good thru the first 3 weeks of the season.

Dempsters ERA for the game is 189 with a WHIP of 24

He's clearly hurt or something. Throw him on the 15DL, call up some Iowa and Tennessee kids please.

I would say call up McNutt and Jackson if you need to of the kids to start some games in place of Russell and an injured Dempster.

The Quade facepalms in the first inning were priceless. He was truly one of us during that debacle....

The way I see it, karma has finally caught up to Ryan Dempster for cracking Javier Vazquez's skull in 2001, when he was the best pitcher in baseball at the time. VIVE LES EXPOS!!!!!@

we need sweet lou's fire and passion  remember when he went ballistic his first year, threw a base, and the cubs went on a tear? me neither  this team will finish in a dead heat with the buckos for last place and the fans will stay away from ricketts field come august and sept.

The Astros are going to finish in last....I think the Cubs can stay in competition for the 4th spot in the division as long as their starting pitching stays strong.

wow, didnt realize this til now

yes he does get a free pass...this is the problem with Hendry...when he signs an outsider, he goes all out, and treats them like royalty, buddy-buddy type shit, just to get them to sign

and then when they do bad, he cant go back on it and criticize them....but yet he has no problem bullying his own players because he never had to kiss their ass to begin with...

Dempster's glove flap has always looked retarded to me as well...pisses me off everytime i see it

It's nice to see Z is back to form, a walk and a cookie, 2 run homer. My only hope is that some team will want some of the shit the Cub has come trade deadline time. It's unfortunate that Hendry will be making the trades.
I would like to punch Shingles in the face.

Looks like another great game. Quade has to have put out about 25 different lineups by now.

The era's of the 5 current starters say alot about the state of this team.

Zambrano 5.51 (subject to immediate change as he is in the game right now)
Garza 4.11
Coleman 7.43
Russell 8.31
Dempster 9.58

Since Quade changes the lineup more than he changes his drawers can he possibly put Soriano slightly higher? He is leading the team in RBI's from the 7 hole. It's hard for me to say based on his past few years, but with the production the middle of this lineup is providing right now he probably needs to be hitting 3,4 or 5 right now. When he starts sucking move him down, but right now he needs to be higher with that production.

That starting rotation alone, injuries notwithstanding, should be a fireable offense. Hendry is a boob.

Fuck, hit him third. Could it get any worse?

Dude. They're winning 3-2. After being down 2-0. I'll take it.
