I want to look towards the future. I want this team to get better and I want them to win...but god dammit...I am at the end of my rope with Hendry having a fucking job. Let Wilkin run the whole god damn thing until they figure out how to hire a competent GM.

Another gift run from Coleman. The more I see of this pitching staff, the more I got to question Qball and Riggins. His decision to keep Russell in the rotation is killing this team. Now that you're lucky if you get 5 innings out of Coleman and Dempster, you really need the 5 spot to be a real starter.

Exactly. Did you not see enough of that??!!!??? FUCK!!!!!!!! I'm being driven to ASFB levels!!!

Len and Bob still make me think it's not that bad. They really are great at what they do.

I think you can add Ricketts, Quade, and Riggins to the boob list.

From your mouth to Shingle's ears. Somehow Hendry has convinced Tommy that it was all the TribCo's bad decisions. He was only a puppet.
I pined years for other owners than the TribCo and this is what I get? Goddamn, I'm pissed.

And Quade's quote about Russell? paraphrasing "he's best suited for the bullpen but we're going to give him another start".

WHAT !!!!!????

This team is screwed.

I've heard Wilkin would go with Hendry. Not by the Cubs choice. However, I call bullshit. If you give a scouting director enough money, he's not following his friend. If Hendry is any kind of a friend, he would tell him to stay as well. I don't know what it is about an Arizona Diamondbacks game on Sunday, May 1st, but I've had enough.

Yeah, kinda like how right now Castro's best suited for leadoff, but we're gonna hit him third anyway.

My sentiments exactly. Ricketts was just to wrapped up with the purchase to get bogged down by that pesky FIRING THE FUCKING GM THING!!!!

If I were Quade I would tell Hendry to give me a fucking starting pitcher or get a new manager. There is no honor in managing a team that is conceding games.

I don't think Ricketts is a boob. I've talked to people around him, and they say he's sharp, and a great businessman. People that don't have to just say that. His family bought the team at the worst possible time, and were also fleeced a bit during the sale. I know that could be contradictory to my first statement. However, I do still have faith in mid-size Tom.

Been saying this for weeks. Castro should be the leadoff hitter for the rest of the season at least. His approach isn't as good batting in the 3hole.

Yes. This is unacceptable. Again, what did you see out of Russell that makes you think this is anything but another one game disaster.

Many a great businessmen seem to have lost their marbles when it comes to owning pro sports franchises. He did buy at the worst possible time, not doubt. But there's no good reason to prolong the pain by not making the necessary baseball moves to get this franchise going in the right direction, is there?

This is why I can't understand the Hendry thing. Look at the amount of money he's spent (add to it the Pena money cause that guy is finished) versus results and that would have to be a red flag to any competent businessman. I'm sure at some point, if not already given the ticket specials, he's going to be in a financial bind.......and Hendry is partly responsible.

Just fire the guy already. And Drop In that whole "if Hendry leaves so will Wilkens" is absolute bullshit. What's Wilkens going to do, follow Hendry back to Creighton?

It is time. He needs to be given his pink slip after this game. Go get an assistant GM from a good organization. Go get that female who worked with the Yankees and Dodgers who no one will give a job because she is a female. She knows her shit but never gets the job because of the obvious.

No. I'm not defending the avoidable bad decisions. If I were mid-size Tom, Hendry and Kenney would have been sold at a Bison and Shit Executive stand outside section 140 immediately after purchase. However, I have a unique view to running a sports franchise. Which is sad. The couple million saved by not firing Hendry, probably cost at least twenty times that in contracts.

A perfect example of how being a good businessman does not translate into being a good baseball man.

I did say I'm calling bullshit on that. However, Wilken wouldn't have to do that. He'd be hired almost anywhere in baseball.

Drop In I didn't write my post very well. I was agreeing with you that the Wilkens/Hendry embilical cord is absolute bullshit.

Bison and Shit Executive.....I like it. Sounds a bit like a wacky morning zoo combo.

I'm not sure he is trying to save money by not firing the worthless piece of shit, but he has no idea how to go about evaluating and hiring a real GM. He just needs to go get one of those hiring firms or get someone with vast experience to be a VP of baseball operations or whatever they call it and fix shit for him.

If you think about it, wouldn't that be the opposite? But I know where you're going with that statement.

The Bowman decision to fire Savard was not the best business decision at the time. It pissed off a lot of fans, Danny Mac being one. May have been a short term revenue loss, considering contract, attendance, etc. But long term, it was the best hockey decision. That is what is most important.
I think Shingles needs to figure out that they are not necessarily mutually exclusive.

Soriano dogging it on a fly ball that landed foul, but should have been caught.

agreed, it was not like ricketts just bought this team over night , he was very close to the team for almost 2 years before the deal was closed and had access to the books..he should have had a plan and executed it day 1.

Kasper's wife's favorite song is by Beck? Nothing against Beck, but what the shit? Len and Bob are about the only thing keeping me going the last two years. Do I really have to stick to a decision I made when I was six?
