This is good radio. After reading the posts about the Feder column, I had to listen today. Does he always bitch about management like this? WOW!! Sounds like a man who knows his fate and he keeps mentioning 18 months. I've never heard a radio host have his news reader (Annie) read a story about himself on every news update. This may be a long shot but maybe there is a chance this meeting today is to finally decide to fire North NOW. Its not unheard of to fire someone before their contract expires. I'll listen Thursday for SURE!!

GO CBS!!!

He does seem uneasy. He keeps mentioning a new show, and how he is 5th in the ratings. Does anyone have the ratings ? I doubt that he is 5th in the mornings.

I had to tune in and Mike mentions he is going to do lunch with Harvey Wells and Spaceball, going back to the guys who covered his ass for years. I just dont get the radio business, I really dont.

You can almost hear Pappy's lone remaing brain cell clicking like a Tandy hard drive as he tries to think up more nonsense to say today. He just let us know that he's having lunch with Harvey Wells and Spaceball. Ooh boy, the think tank that destroyed the Heavy Fuel Crew and the Monsters of the Mid-Day are putting their collective heads together. Look out Chicago!

More importantly, he's second to the other sports talk station in the city.

I guess the "15th Anniversary Show" excitement by Mike North was very similar to the excitement that Joe Pesci had in Goodfellas when he was gonna get 'made'.

...and then POW!

I heard Anne mention the Feder column in her last update, that was just so self serving.

I listened to some today, and although it may be interesting, I don't want to hear Annie and Mike saying how evil their bosses are, and how their industry is so horrible to work in.....

Deal with it. Everyone else who works for somebody probably has similar feelings.

Oddly enough, that wasn't mentioned.

So if Mike gets canned or told to go home until his contract is up, I am sure that Annie and Fred will leave also to support Mike

The Captain Queeg Morning Show: Undeniably barbaric paranoia, loosed to roam and groan freely through some of the sickliest radio imaginable.

Did I hear North again reference "I'll be talking to my lawyers."

WTF?!?!

The 'common man' doesn't have lawyers on retainer for every frickin' obstacle in life.

His lawyers must just love it when the Secetary says "Mike North on the line", I imagine a game of Scissors, paper, rock going on to see who takes the call.

Scene: FMN's bedroom

Wife: "FredsMissingNuts, why don't you ever look me in the eye when i mount you?...and who the fukk is 'J. Love'?"

or maybe it's like the scene in 'election', where matthew broderick sees a superimposed vision of reese witherspoon on his wife's head while she's doing the dirty deed:

"fukk me mr. nuts. oooh yeah. just like that"

Did Annie really cry??

There's no crying in sports talk radio.

I love this board...long time reader. Y'all crack me up. :D

Too bad they didn't can North back in '06 when the Score acquired the White Sox. I'm sure the reason Score Mgt couldn't afford John Rooney what he was worth was because they're paying (I say lighting $$$ on fire)North that contract.

Glad to hear that news today from Feder. Because of North, I give Mike and Mike my drivetime in the morning and I must suffer the agony of what is currently, White Sox radio :x

These weeks when Howard Stern is on vacation are brutal. Neither of the options for sports radio in the morning do anything for me. I can get through about 5 minutes of North, 5 minutes of M & M, then it is music for me.

To bastardize Newton Minow...Chicago morning radio is a vast wasteland. The sad part is, I don't see it getting better any time soon. There's not a single show or host (AM or FM) that's worth listening to for more than 10 minutes at a time. I miss Mancow.
