Yeah that wasn't good but the rain didn't help. Kentucky's friday night starter (Alex Meyer) is a stud and they had him beat but they lost it late. They're still tied for first but have another tough one at Georgia. I think one of those games is on ESPNU this weekend.

I watched that game too. Palazzone was really good. I watched a little of sundays game and that's the one they should have won. Bullpen blew it in the 9th.

They're on thursday night against Florida. That'll be a good one.

#13 Georgia Tech will be playing at UIC this weekend. They must have signed a home/home series with them because UIC went to Georgia Tech last year. Georgia Tech features 3 players who will be high draft picks in next months draft. 3B Jack Skole could go in the 2-4 range, Friday night starter Mark Pope could go in the 3-5 range and Saturday starter Jed Bradley will be a top 10 pick and could be a possibility for the Cubs at #9 (though I have him going to the Nats at #6).

There will be no shortage of scouts at these games and I can almost guarantee Jim Hendry and Kenny Williams will be in attendance for both Friday and Saturdays games. I hope the weather is nice this weekend because this may be too good an opportunity to pass up.

Are you ready for the big game tonight, Hawger? I have the steak fajitas marinating and the Pacifico is on ice. Nothing says cinco de mayo like Arkansas vs Florida baseball. 8)

That was a HUGE HR. Now let's see if they can get these last 3 outs and the Hogs can get out of here with a W.

Nice win, Hawger! Baxendale went the distance and the bats made Hudson Randall look human. Now they just have to take 1 of the 2 and put those Gators on a bus out of town. Hell of a game.

Saw the last 2 innings and it was out standing. What a performance by Baxendale, and Kuhn finally had a big hit. Are any more of these games on TV this weekend?

#1 Virginia was idle this weekend. #2 Oregon St won 2-3 from Cal and #3 Vandy took 2-3 from Kentucky. #4 S Carolina lost 2-3 to Ole Miss and # 8 Florida lost 2-3 against #23 Arkansas. #6 ASU moved up a spot after sweeping Long Beach St. #10 TCU moved up a spot after winning 2-3 from #10 Oklahoma St. #13 Georgia Tech won 2 from UIC (game 3 is today) behind the pitching of Mark Pope and Jed Bradley (who didn't look great). #21 Rice moved up 3 spots after sweeping Houston. #23 Arkansas returns to the top 25 after winning their series against Florida as does #24 UCLA after sweeping Oregon behind the pitching of Gerrit Cole and Trevor Bauer. California and Gonzaga dropped out of the top 25.

That Arkansas/Florida series was great baseball to watch. I am really liking the college game with the new bats. It has really changed the game.

There were plenty of scouts there Saturday....but the pitching wasn't particularly impressive. both starters were only in the middle 80's & neither had much movement on their pitches. It was a grindy baseball....filled with kids who couldn't execute pickoff throws to 1st.

And Hawg...if you think the pace slows down after a 12 y.o. baseball season, you're in for a helluva surprise.

I could only make it to sunday's game (stupid sat, sun, mon series). There were tons of scouts there to see Jed Bradley but no Hendry or Kenny (but Jerry Krause was there!).

I wasn't particularly impressed with Bradley either. He certainly looks the part but I expected more out of arguably the top left handed pitcher in a loaded draft. He throws hard and has a nasty slider but he labored sunday. This is a kid that averages more than a strikeout an inning playing in the ACC and he could only get 2 in 6 innings against UIC. Maybe the Jackets enjoyed Chicago a little too much saturday night but who can blame them.

Skole and the SS Esch are the real deal. GT may be my new team (sorry Hawger).

Arkansas vs South Carolina tonight at 7:00pm on ESPNU, Hawger.

If your boys can take this series maybe I'll jump back on their bandwagon.

Start coming on back Keyser, we got game 1 last night 6-2. Although the game was delayed 2 hours by rain.

What time did they finally start the game? I recorded it and wanted to watch this morning but all I have is women's softball.

That's another big win, Hawger. They might host a regional yet.

The first pitch was at 9:10, but they didn't show it till the women's SEC semi-final game was over. It had a rain delay also. If they can win 1 of these 2 and then sweep Ole Miss at home next weekend, I am liking their chances.

Vanderbilt at Georgia 6:30pm tonight on ESPNU. I highly recommend the pregame show with Keith Law and Ben McDonald at 6:00pm. They are tremendous at breaking down the matchups and providing tons of draft insight.

Cub Fans may want to get a look at Vandy starter Sonny Gray. He is a top 10 pick and could be a future Cub.

Hawger, you can watch Arkansas vs Mississippi tomorrow night on line at ESPN3.

Tough loss, Hawger but I have to hang that one on the coach. Fant pitched 6.1 innings on saturday and he brought him back to start today. He should have gone with Moore. This doesn't kill their chances to host a regional but they need to win their next game.

You can watch the games on line at ESPN3. It's usually a pretty good feed but mine has been going in and out today for some reason.

I read that Arkansas could host a regional even if they go two and out in the SEC tournament because of their great stadium and how many fans they would get at the games. Cash is king.
