The Rays called up rookie Brandon Guyer today and he homered in his first major league at bat. Guyer was aquired as part of the Matt Garza trade and is the first Rays hitter ever to homer in his first major league at bat.

The Rays have seen a decent return on this trade already though Archer hasn't done shit except try to increase his street cred with pics like this. http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/milb ... pid=502042

Hak-Ju has been raking in the FSL.

Whatever they get out of Fuld is a plus because he was more less a throw in .

It was a good trade for a team really in the playoff hunt! Thus making it a bad trade.

They can keep him, trade him for prospects or let him go after a few years and get some high picks for compensation.

YAWNNNNNNNN u want prospects u trade to not be busts. The Cubs have the best team in all of minor league baseball even though the faces have changed. Future is bright as much as it kills the win today at all costs dbags

Meatpants loves the team he plays for though.

...and on Sunday, Brandon Guyer was sent back down to AAA so the Rays' could add another reliever to the mix.

Joe Maddon loves playing musical chairs with his outfield... Matt Joyce has been really good lately but still doesn't get consistent at bats cuz he's still trying to milk the Sam Fuld Bovine Express for all it's worth while the Rays presumably wait til sometime in June or July so they can call up Desmond Jennings and avoid that dreaded Super 2 status for him, thus buying them another year on his arbitration clock.

So a little over one month into the season, Sam Fuld is looking like he's proving to be a 4th outfielder, Brandon Guyer evidently had to hit 2HR in a game in order to stay in the bigs, and all Chris Archer has done this year is take imposing gangstalicious pictures for the Rays' AAA affiliate. Meanwhile, some statheads claim that Matt Garza is the best pitcher in the bigs and have quoted the black eyed peas in wondering "where is the love?" --- http://www.beyondtheboxscore.com/2011/5 ... s-the-love

up down up down, good outing, down,

poor Mitch Atkins, Jeff Gray, Jeff Stevens, Justin Berg, etc...
