You've got different problems with pitching. One is that the guys like Dempster who were supposed to be good aren't and the next is the incredible lack of starting depth not just at the MLB level but that's going on in the whole system. The Cubs have decided that they simply didn't needsome of the relatively good starters they had. Gorz, Lilly and honestly I even miss frickin Silva at this point because he's better than the hot garbage that was out there today. You've got 2 starters, a solid closer, one middle relief guy and a bunch of mopes who are basically terrible at any given time, like Sharky (who will indeed suck again, I assure you) to the new Antonio Alphonseca (Mateo) or just bad (Grabow) That's a management problem.
So you've got a pitching problem and a management problem.
You don't think hitting has been a problem but I think your team stats are being skewed by a couple players who are excelling. The team is 2nd in BA but is 21st in runs. That's telling me you got guys who are hitting and getting on base but the guys who are supposed to be bringing them in aren't doing it. How long do I really gotta wait for Pena to heat up? What I said to my friend about Beckham goes for him too, which was by the time he heats up you're winning meaningless games because you're 10 or better games back at the ASB.
And let's just go ahead and get to the depth problem. Soto's hurt, so there go your chances on getting any type of production at all from that position. If Castro pulls a hammy what you got to replace that? And what happens to the team without him? That's also a Maagement problem.
You ask me, we knew going into spring training that we had a management problem. So yeah, to the guys giving the "ready to fire on May 12th?" yeah, fuck yeah, I'm ready to fire hendry May 12th. The sooner we can get someone in there who actually knows what the hell he's doing before 7/31 the better. Someone with some cojones please too.

Well said except for the Silva part. Douchebag who had his pixie dust 8-0 start last year and IMO would have sucked big time this year. Plus, the team hated him.
I have a feeling Ricketts will see the writing on the wall with Hendry and the very good possiblity of shitty attendance down the line. He's going to lose the fanbase if he keeps him on.
This team is about a notch above Houston.
