And the Cubs suck more than other teams in the division. Give up.

They are hanging in there missing 40% of their rotation. The hitting has to get better, it cant possibly get worse. I wont give up on this team until after they make it thru interleague play.

One last thing that bothered me about this game,

the bullpen is somewhat rested, it is a close game in the 6th inning and your playing the division leaders and the first pitcher Quade brings in is Mateo?!!!

Bring in Shark (who is pitching better lately) or Marshall. That 6th inning was the ballgame and Quade brought in Mateo. Dumb move.

What do you expect from a minor league manager? A brain??

The NL is a case of the have's and have not's. There are only six or seven teams that have a chance of winning their division in the league. The rest of the teams suck.

But in the Central the have's arent really good, they just suck a little less than the have not's. That still leaves it wide open.

Suck a little less? I disagree.

Position by position, I think there's a pretty wide talent chasm between the Reds and the teams that "suck" . . . Astros, Cubs, Pirates. The Cards and Brewers can also make a case for having upgraded talent vs. those three.

Suppose I should have clarified. I dont consider the Pirates or Astros to be real. When I say wide open, I mean the Reds, Cards, Brewers and Cubs are all relatively close and by the end of the season all 4 teams will be right there fighting for the tallest midget award.

The Cubs will win this division by 10 games. Don't abandon the bandwagon Hank!

The boost that they will get from firing Quade 50 games into the season will carry them to the finish line

The moves keep coming. Mateo is gone too AAA as well with Scott Maine coming up. Maine is seems legit but he is another lefty which is odd. Now they have four lefties in the pen. Something else might be up.

Hendry is going to admit his bully mistake and finally cut Grabow?

I think they may be getting close to dumping some of the veteran shit off this roster.

There is no way you roll with 4 lefties. Since it is pretty much a lock that Cash is out for the year I think Marshall will get built back up to start. Coleman would go to the pen and Grabow, Byrd, Aram and Fuk are all on the trading block or release block for grabow.

Soriano should not be in the lineup after that display last night.....but he is. Even though Tony C isn't there or just got off the plane at least Reed Cobb who tore the cover off the ball last week should be in. That defense and base running lost them the game. I think this is the lineup

Fuk
Barney
Castro
Aram
Pena
Byrd
Soriano
Wellington
Garza

I don't feel like starting a new thread but you seem to be up to date on all things Cub. How long is Soto out for?

He is going to or already at the Cubs Arizona facility. He should be ready by the time he is eligible to return in around 10 days.

I wonder if they are even going to get this in. Its been raining all day here on the other side of Ohio, but this storm is weird and moving east to west so they should be getting some of it.

Barney is now in sole possession of 2nd place in N.L. batting average. Very impressive. Too bad no one will drive him in. I've got the Reds broadcast and they are spot on. The guys in the top of the order can get on base but the middle of the lineup is awful and can not drive them in.

I have never seen the first baseman appeal on the swing. Oh well, its not like aram is going to do a god damn thing with runners on.

Scary stuff by Soriano once again on a slightly more than routine fly. Lewis just showed him how its done out there in left.

Better hurry up and get the next 2 in because its not going to stop raining.

Three unearned runs on one play.

Awesome.

You're honestly better off not seeing what just happened. To misquote Doug E-P, you can't unsee things. It's one of those moments as a Cubs fan that you might mistake your emotions for serious coronary artery disease.

Bases loaded, Edinson is batting. Hits a "hot-shot" (not really) at Pena and he blunders it. Then they try to throw it home to catch a runner (somehow Garza cut it off near 1B and mind you, the ball never left the infield) and then his throw went into the dugout area, advancing the runs and moving Edinson to 3B.

So 3 runs and the ball didn't leave the infield. Embarrassing as shit.

Errors are unacceptable. Let's fucking go already. That bullshit needs to be cleaned up. Have a full fucking infield practice until this shit is cleaned up.
