Its not a choke, its called playing way too many minutes and being way too fucking tired at the end of the game.

If you want to identify the true choking moment in the game go back to the first quarter when the Bulls were dominatinig and had a 10 pt lead and then missed about 5 three pointers. Bulls had the opportunity there to step on Miami's throat and build a 15-20 pt lead which would've given them some breathing room to weather the eventual Heat runs that would occur later in the game.

100% accurate. :thumleft:

This post is making it difficult to hate you Shakes. I still do hate you, but I'm slightly more conflicted about it.

The beginning of the 4th quarter took the wind out of the Bulls sails IMO. That lineup with Rose and Watson on the floor was a bad idea, and Miami made them pay. It also cost the Bulls the ability for Rose to get a couple minutes of rest, which I think ended up costing them the game at the end of regulation.

Don't worry, I'll be sure to up my level of racism for the rest of the day in order to get the scales back in order.

The Bulls are in a catch-22. They are realizing that they aren't good enough to stop a Miami run at the start of the 4th if Rose is on the bench so they leave him out there, but all that does is make him too tired to take over games at the very end. But, if they take him out at the beginning then it won't matter because they feel (and probably rightfully so) that they'll be down 10 pts halfway through the 4th and it won't matter if Rose is rested since the game will be over.

That's why the only chance they have of winning a game in this series is if they can go into that 4th quarter with a lead/cushion so Rose can rest and be ready to go during crunch time.

I could deem it a choke if my name was Whistler.

Missed shots. They happen. Not a choke.

This post demonstrates one thing. I'd rather listen to a hockey guy talk hoops than listen to a hoops guy talk hockey.

they should never have allowed Rose water during practice. He'd be a lot less tired if they stopped babying him.

I blame Reggie. I'm sure he overhydrated him as a youth player.

Not really. I've been hearing for weeks that Thibodeau is a combination of Stephen Hawking and Phog Allen. I've heard that diagramming last shots is COACHING. That's... what... coaching... is ...all...ABOUT. The Bulls did a piss poor job and goofs like Reggie Miller roasted Thibs for getting Boozer smoked repeatedly on the pick and roll.

Disagree, Hawking is much more of a ladies man than Thibs.

Believe it or not, I was actually a hoops guy first and then a hockey guy. From age 20-30 I played hoops on average 5-6 days a week all over the city. After back surgery #2 I had to give it up and went back to hockey. Not being able to play anymore kinda soured my taste for the sport so I don't follow it as religiously as I used to, but I still watch most if not all the Bulls games during the season.

I used to be a big college fan, but now I can barely stomach that crap.

If you were whistler you would say Thibs bullied Rose into staying on the court the whole game which him tired at the end.

Derrick Rose's first trip to the NBA Eastern Conference Finals has been one to forget. On a night where I heard many "experts" suggest that Rose needed to score 30, 35, 40 or maybe even 50 to get the Bulls back in the series with the Heat, he's had a rough go of it and was lucky to score 23 on just 8/27 field goal shooting, complete with LeBron James guarding him defensively in the final quarter and in OT. I get the impression that the constant double teams and pressure has gotten to #1 where the shots simply aren't falling.

I think he was just guarded really well, he hasn't had the best series, but the majority of the team around him has chocked far more.

The Heat are very good... this is a credit to the Bulls too

I hate to say it but Rose absolutely choked. Fouls, turnovers, missed shots and free throws. Maybe he was tired thanks to Thibs lack of substitution but ultimately it was Rose on the floor. :x  :(
