Lots of talk recently that Adam Dunn has, so far, been a free agent bust, and may be the the top of the class for this season's free agent busts. It's too soon to say how his White Sox career will be, but big money for 4 years will be a lot to live up to.

So who has been the worst free agent signing ever for the White Sox?

Todd Ritchie's name comes up a lot
David Wells maybe?

Kenny Williams hasn't really put the club in any horrible situations with contracts as far as I can recall.

Signing/Hiring Hawk to be GM set the oranization back years and definitely did more damage (LaRussa alone) than the Navarro contract did.

Jake Peavy is gonna cost the Sox around $52 million (assuming they buyout 2013...I can't remember if that was waived). That would be for 3 years...plus the 3 meaningless game he pitched at the end of '09. Can't write him off yet as a bust, but he's almost half way through the contract and it hasn't been good so far.

(via trade, but whatever)

I have a mental block on the Todd Ritchie experience. I don't think anyone else would blame me. To be fair, after some research, Ritchie wound up in Milwaukee, so meh, I had my teams backwards.
